Have you ever colored your hair at home? I think I’ve probably taken on this task myself at home more than I’ve had it done in a salon. The reason that I really like to color my hair at home is that I can do it whenever I want. I don’t have to schedule an appointment at the salon. With the new Revlon Total Color product, you can take on this task at home too!
My personal reasons for coloring my hair are to cover the grays that have started popping up and to get vibrant shiny hair. I’ve always been concerned with the safety of the chemical in hair color products. The smell alone is very concerning to me. I know that it can’t be safe to breathe in the chemicals either.
Revlon recently came out with this new clean, vegan formula that goes hand in hand with the current clean beauty movement. Total Color is formulated with none of the following:
- no ammonia
- no parabens
- no silicones
- no mineral oil
- no phthalates
- no gluten
This is a permanent hair color that gives 100% gray coverage with long lasting vibrancy. The box contains a single application with everything needed to achieve shiny vibrant color that lasts 6 weeks. Also included is a pair of gloves and a conditioning gloss with enough to use several times. The cost of this hair color is about $7.99 and you can purchase at most drug stores and big box stores. It’s available in 16 shades, so there’s likely a shade for everyone.
In my video I used the shade 40 which is a dark brown to match my natural hair color. In addition, since my hair is really thick and long I needed to use 2 boxes because I was covering from roots to ends. I had previously used a different hair color with mahogany and needed to cover the regrowth and fading.
Below you can watch my demo of how easy it is for me to color my hair using Revlon Total Color. Do you color your own hair or do you go to a salon for this service?

Hi, well said. I also prefer using hair coloring products that are free from ammonia, parabens i.e. harmful chemicals. If anyone uses safe hair colors , then there are no chances of Hair damage.
