Want to know the best foundations for summer? Many of us switch our foundation during the hot summer months. There are so many products to choose from that it can be a confusing process when making a purchase. Since bloggers use and review so many different products I thought I’d ask my blogging friends to help us all out so the decision process might be a little bit easier. Below you will find foundation recommendations for the hot summer months from some of my favorite beauty bloggers.
Jamie from Makeup Life Love says Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation is hands down the most amazing foundation for summer. It’s has amazing staying power even through the most humid of days. The coverage is phenomenal. Trust me you NEED it in your beauty arsenal!
Allison from Never Die Beauty says her favorite foundations for summer are the lightweight or water foundations. NARS Weightless Luminous All Day Foundation or new PUR Water Hydrating Serum Foundation are my go-tos because they’re so light but provide great coverage and sunscreen.
Nikki from Nik Makeup Junkie prefers to wear Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue. It’s technically a tinted moisturizer, but it has light coverage, evens out your skin tone and gives you a healthy look without ever being heavy or cakey.
Katie who blogs at From My Vanity says “I love the Tarte Amazonian Clay liquid foundation. It holds up so well, even with the humidity and sweat. And it has more coverage, giving me the flawless finish I want!”
Kelly from Atlanta Beauty Expert loves Mirabella CC Cream or Trish McEvoy Beauty Balm during the summer months. They both have SPF and natural looking coverage in an anti-aging formula with oil control.
Nidia loves the It Cosmetics CC+ Veil Beauty Fluid. She says “It’s so light on the skin, and it feels like I’m not wearing any foundation, but my skin looks great.” She blogs over at Beauty Lit from Within.
Norah, who is a professional makeup artist and blogger at Norah Loves Makeup loves Face Atelier Ultra Pro. Face Atelier is a Canadian brand that’s a makeup artist favorite, due to its formula (covers very well with medium / sheer finish and lasts all day).
Christina-Lauren from Inspirations and Celebrations picks Tarte BB Cream and says “it is one of my favorites as it’s lightweight, contains SPF, and never feels like I’m wearing a mask.”
Erika blogs over at Notes from My Dressing Table. She says her favorite is IT Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ Cream. I love this stuff because I can customize the coverage to my skin’s needs on any given day and it is lightweight, comfortable, offers chemical free sunscreen protection and doesn’t melt off my face during long, hot Arizona Summer days.
Elle is a beauty blogger as well as a Youtube vlogger at Elle is For Living. She loves Revlon Colorstay – it lasts and stays put with great coverage.
It Cosmetics seems to stealing the show here! We have more bloggers who put their products at the top of their lists…
Marnie is also a beauty blogger and Youtube vlogger at MsGoldGirl. When asked about her favorite summer foundation she says, “It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better CC+ with SPF 50 – it’s my favorite summer foundation because it is just the right amount of coverage without feeling heavy, it has SPF 50, and it has enough moisturizer in it that I can skip that step on a sticky summer morning. It also photographs incredibly well and mixes with just about any and every foundation.
Ashley from Texas Mommy of Boys say her favorite is definitely the It Cosmetics CC Cream. It is an all in one summer product! It has great sun protection, buildable coverage & a lightweight formula. PERFECT!
Cremes Come True blogger Audrey picks L’Oreal Magic Nude Liquid Powder because it’s very light, gives a natural look, and helps with shine.
Kim from The Hip Chick Online says, “My favorite summer/hot weather foundation is actually two foundations that I layer on top of each other. I know it sounds heavy, but trust me it’s not and it will last all day! I begin with a tiny amount of Estee Lauder Double Wear which I dot lightly on my nose, cheeks and chin. Then, I use the Guerlain Lingerie de Peau to cover my entire face applied with a beauty blender. The Estee Lauder Double Wear helps the foundation last all day and not sweat off in my t-zone, and the Guerlain adds a natural glow to my face. It’s a combo you must try!
Beauty blogger and vlogger Kristin Gehm loves Guerlain BB Cream (discontinued though! 🙁 ) It has spf, great coverage and holds up in the heat!! Covergirl Ready Set Gorgeous would be my second choice! Great coverage and longevity without feeling heavy!
Shelly from Polarbelle says “I experienced my first hot summer last year and found the Algenist Tinted Moisturizer to be what my skin liked. It protects from the sun and gives a good even light medium coverage and didn’t melt off when it was over 100 outside.”
Shannon from Toward Beauty Blog is a huge fan of tinted moisturizers with SPF in the summer. Her personal favorite is Balm Shelter by the Balm, because it isn’t greasy and has nice coverage.
Beauty Blogger and Vlogger Crystal from MsCrystal Makeup has two favorites. CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous and CoverGirl 3n1. Both give great coverage without being heavy and stay put all day!
And now its my turn… I am a total hoarder when it comes to foundations. I’d have to say that during the summer months I lean toward tinted moisturizers, bb creams and cc creams because they all combine several steps into one. Since I can’t give you a whole long list here I’m going to give you just two. For a tinted moisturizer I’ve been partial to Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. I like that it moisturizes, provides enough coverage and has a good amount of spf. My all time favorite cc cream continues to be Pur Cosmetics CC Cream. It has an spf of 40 and is thicker than the tinted moisturizer. Therefore it fills in my large pores and gives a nice slightly dewy medium coverage. I can’t be without a tube of this stuff!
