Are you ready to fully charge your lashes? The new Fully Charged mascara from Pur Cosmetics might be exactly what you’re looking for. As you can see from the packaging, the mascara is powered by magnetic technology. Pur claims that “this age-defying mascara has a magnetic polymer matrix that wraps a positively charged elastic veil around each lash to instantly lift, separate and define each lash for long-lasting performance.” How does that translate to my experience using this new mascara? Read on to find out…
Key ingredients include:
- Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1
- Panthenol (Vitamin B) and Vitamin C ester
- Carnuba Wax and Beeswax
These ingredients are included to enhance and nourish the lashes. For example, there are “age-defying ingredients to fight the follicle aging process by conditioning lashes to help prevent premature fall out.”
As you can see in the picture above, the wand for this mascara is rather large. The formula is quite wet. It’s a thicker type of wetness (if that makes sense) rather than a drippy type of wetness.
The directions say to place the mascara wand at the base of the lashes and hold for a few seconds to set the product. Then you’re supposed to wiggle the wand back and forth, repeating as needed. The wand can also be used in a vertical position to apply to the lower lashes. Of course, you can apply in any manner that you prefer.
The Pur Fully Charged Mascara retails for $22 for a .o44 ounce tube. It can be found at Kohl’s stores and Ulta stores nationwide. You can use code HELLOLASH20 on the Pur Cosmetics website for 20% off through April 15, 2016.
Verdict: I like the way my lashes look with this mascara. Unfortunately, because of the thickness of the formula I feel like I have to work with the brush for quite a while to get the mascara to apply smoothly or my lashes come out looking a bit clumpy. The mascara did not transfer at all. It stayed put all day without flaking. It was easy to remove at the end of the day with all of my standard makeup removers. Although I do like the mascara, I wish it was a thinner formula because the thickness of this one combined with the large brush size make it hard to work with. Sorry Pur Cosmetics, but for the price of $22 we can probably find a mascara that’s better.
I’ve been using this mascara for over 2 weeks now. My opinion on it has changed from my original first impression review. I now LOVE this mascara! I don’t feel like the formula is as thick now, nor is it hard to work with. I apply it easily to my lashes. I haven’t had any clumping at all. The brush is obviously still large and a little difficult for me to work with. I sometimes get some product on my lids when applying. However, it comes off easily if needed. So this just goes to show you that opinions can change if you just give a product a chance.
