I haven’t posted my Weekend News blog post because I was completely consumed with all of the content and deadlines I had for brands that I was working on before my trip so I had to take something off of my plate to keep my sanity. And then I was on my trip to France for about 12 days. Once I got back I had to catch up all over again. It’s pretty much the cycle of life for all of us, I think.
My trip to France was incredible. We sailed on a river cruise on Scenic Cruises in the Owner’s Suite cabin from Lyon to Arles and then stayed a few extra days in Nice. I posted daily in my Instagram stories and saved them all in 2 highlights that you can see on my account. If you missed them, you can watch here and here. I can’t even express in words the feeling that I get when I travel and see the beauty and history of mankind and our world.
I did a little luxury shopping at Saint Laurent and Hermes and then stocked up on some French skincare because we all know that French women have beautiful skin and many of the products that they use are formulated differently than they are in the US. I just laugh at myself because I know that I already have some amazing skincare at home, but I can’t resist the good deals and my curiosity got the best of me (and my credit card). My suitcase was almost 67 lbs on the way home, plus I had 2 carry-on bags. Oops!
I’ve been back from my trip for just over a week and have had some fun time with my grandkids. As anyone with children knows, May is really busy with all of their end-of-school-year activities. I’m blessed to live close to them so I get to see them often and watch them grow up.
I haven’t done a ton of shopping this week, however, I did buy this blue shampoo to try to get rid of some of the orange/brassiness in my hair. I also bought this face balm, which feels like a tinted moisturizer with a sheer finish. I’ve been wearing it on its own instead of foundation for a few days and I really like it. I bought some new arrivals from Quince. I ordered this dress and this one that are easy thrown-on styles for summer.
If you need any makeup or skincare from my new business website, I’d love your support. It’s a clean beauty brand with no toxic ingredients. Everything that I’ve tried is fantastic, which is why I joined this uplifting company that really supports and empowers women.

Here’s a lightweight spring and summer outfit that I wore on my cruise vacation that I really loved. The patch pocket white jeans are actually cropped for most people, but are longer on my 5’1″ petite frame. The crocheted bolero topper is so pretty with the tan and gold (Jeans and topper, use code MAKEUPOBSESSEDMOM for 10% off your order). And the sandals might be my favorites flats for summer too.
This brand new barrier boosting body oil from Beekman 1802 in the Juicy Peachy Lychee smells lovely and it’s not overpowering. It’s made with goat milk barrier-repairing fatty acids and delivers lightweight hydration for dry, sensitive skin. I like to use it on damp skin right when I get out of the bath or shower. Use my code Stacie20 for 20% off sitewide!
I can’t stress enough how amazing this mascara is. It gives my lashes length, volume and curl in the best way. They look great all day and then the mascara washes off with just water. I highly recommend this clean beauty formula.
I’m not a huge perfume person, but one sniff of this beautiful fragrance immediately changed my mind. It’s described as warm, creamy, and sweet woodsy gourmand fragrance described as a “sun-warmed skin” scent with notes of juicy pear, vanilla orchid, and coconut.
I recently discovered the brand Beyond By Vera. Their dresses are exactly my style. You can see all of these and tons more on their website here. These are all perfect for any spring or summer event you may be attending.
