Do you love beauty subscription boxes as much as I do? Today I will be doing a reveal post of the latest Sephora Play Subscription Box. This is the February, 2016 box. This subscription program is unfortunately not available to everyone just yet. Sephora rolled it out as a beta testing type program several months ago. I sure hope they make it available to all very soon. It’s really hard for me to show something that isn’t somewhat readily available to everyone.
The cost of this box is a mere $10 (plus tax) per month for 5-6 nice sample products. These are all products from the brands that Sephora carries in their stores and online. Therefore, some of the brands are luxury items. This makes me quite happy!
The February Sephora Play Box included the following:
- A nice sample of the sensual fragrance Tom Ford Black Orchid. It’s a little bit heavy to me, but I love it. This fragrance retails over $100, so I’m thrilled to have a sample size.
- Sample size Lancome Liqui-Pencil Longwear eyeliner in Noir Intense. I’m thrilled to have this eyeliner since I don’t believe I’ve tried it before. Great for on-the-go use.
- Bumble and Bumble Pret-A-Powder is triple whammy – equal parts dry shampoo, style extender and volume. I’m excited to give this a try.
- Bareminerals Pop of Passion Lip Oil-Balm in Plumberry Pop – I have several of these, but not this color. This one is a gorgeous shade that I’m so ready to use.
- Make Up For Ever Rouge Artist Natural in Copper Pink – I only have a few lipsticks from this line and they are very impressive. This one will be nice day and night.
- Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara – I’ve used this mascara in the past, but it’s been a long time, so I’m happy to have this one for travel. Who doesn’t love a mascara that lengthens, volumizes, curls and conditions all in one?!
Verdict: For $10 this is a GREAT beauty subscription box!
Let me know if you’re lucky to live in a state where the Sephora Play Box is available.
*I paid for this box with my own money.

I am beyond pissed off a Sephora over the subscription box. I live in Boston, one of the test market areas, and I signed up immediately for it, but I got put on a waiting list. Then I got an email from them, tried to sign up again and was told it was sold out. I’m so over this that I won’t subscribe. Sounds stupid, I’m sure, but I’ve spent enough time trying to sign up for the darn thing. That said, it’s a really great box! The Lancome Drama Liqui-Pencil in Noir Intense is life! My favorite pencil liner. And I like the Tarte mascara and I’d love to try the MUFE lippie. Haven’t seen the Bare Mineral lip oil but it sounds very intriguing. Absolutely great goodies!

I keep waiting and waiting for them to make this available for everyone! This is one box that I’d love to subscribe to! I think it looks like a fantastic value AND the products always seem to be current ones!

The value for the box is fabulous! I actually own that Black Orchid Tom Ford and love it, it is what I use during the winter as it is a very strong scent. The Bumble dry shampoo is ok, it isn’t my favorite but at least you get to try it since Bumble is pricey.

I live in Texas and am able to get this box. I have already tried everything but the mascara. I like the color of the eyeliner, but not thrilled about how hard it is to remove. The lip products are nice; I especially like the Make Up For Ever lipstick in Copper Pink. I am very fair and it makes my lips pop. This was my first box from Sephora and I am very satisfied that I subscribed!

I’m so happy to hear that you like your subscription as well. I think the quality of the products makes the box stand out from some of the others. Overall, I’ve been very satisfied and I’ve been getting the box since it started. Thanks so much for commenting! Stacie xo

I want to sign up for this box….but I will say that I was disappointed to see that the Make Up For Ever lipstick they included is the same shade they put in the birthday gifts last year. Tacky? I think so! I wish they’d included a different color! But, besides that, the other products all looked fabulous!

Oh interesting! I didn’t realize the lipstick color was the same. I didn’t have it yet so I was happy but could understand that other would be frustrated. Stacie xo

They NEED to hurry up already and make it more available! It’s obvious people (including me) want it. I die over every one of the boxes, including this one!

I love this subscription box too! So much that I cancelled my Ipsy! My daughter complains that it is the same box every time but who REALLY needs that many little bags?!?!? At first I didn’t like the perfume sample because I thought it was very heavy and overwhelming but as the day went on I kept getting whiffs of myself and though “OH! That smells good!”. Too bad it is so expensive because I definitely can’t see myself buying it. I was so excited to get all my samples. Especially since some products were higher end ones I was wanting to really try. Ipsy on the other hand didn’t send me any of the samples I was hoping for out of this months bag and I ended up giving all of it to my teenage daughter! That sealed the deal for my cancelation!

I’m right there with you! This monthly box is maybe “more grown up” than some of the other ones out there. So glad you love it too! Stacie xo
