Drugstore makeup has come a long way! I’m excited to share the latest foundation that I’ve been using for the past few day. It’s the L’Oreal True Match Lumi Cushion Foundation. Let’s start by taking a look what this is. As you can see from the label, it’s a buildable luminous foundation. The retail cost is $14.99 – $16.99 for .51 ounce, depending on where you make your purchase. It can be purchased at all drugstores, Target, Walmart, etc. As you know, you can always find coupons on drugstore brands to make this foundation even more affordable.
L’Oreal describes this foundation as follows:
“a liquid foundation infused in an innovative sponge that delivers the perfect amount of makeup. Our luminous refreshing formula creates sheer to medium coverage. Tap a little for a fresh natural glow, tap on more to build a new level of luminous coverage. Liquid foundation + tap on applicator puff gives you convenient on-the-go coverage. “
The Lumi Cushion Foundation is available in 12 shades. There are a variety of cool, neutral and warm shades. It is designed for all skin types, including sensitive skin. The packaging is designed to be travel and on-the-go friendly.
To apply this foundation I simply used the enclosed puff and gently pat the product on to my skin. I did use more than one layer to cover some blemishes and age spots. I followed with bronzer and blush.
Verdict: I think this foundation is great! It is lightweight. It provides ample coverage for my blemishes and age spots. I love that it can be built up for added coverage wherever needed. I used the puff applicator that is included. It worked very well. I prefer to wash it between uses to avoid bacterial growth rather than store it inside the compact. I have dry skin this time of year and was able to wear this foundation all day long with the use of a light layer of moisturizer before applying the foundation. I didn’t necessarily think my skin was luminous, but it did look almost airbrushed and very natural. The packaging of the product is perfect for travel and on-the-go touch ups. In my opinion, this foundation is a winner and the fact that it’s readily available at the drugstore is an added bonus.
Let me know if you’ve tried the L’Oreal True Matte Lumi Cushion foundation in the comments below.

Very interesting! I noticed the new cushion foundation from L’Oreal at CVS the other day as I was running around. I am using a cushion foundation from IT Cosmetics and I like it a lot. Lightweight, breathable, good coverage. I hope L’Oreal will add a few more shades to their range in the future but these look like a good start. The foundation looks perfect on you!

I was surprised by how much I love this foundation from the very first try. I’m so glad they sent me the right shade for my skin tone. I’ll look at the It Cosmetics cushion one. I love so many products from that line. Stacie xo

Stacie, Lumi is one of my most fave drugstore foundations! Next to Neutrogena I think the coverage and finish is very pretty. It looks amazing on you.

Oh, that’s good to know Norah because I completely trust your opinion. I was so impressed by this foundation from the very first try. I didn’t have to tweak anything to make it work for my skin. Stacie xo

I’ve noticed a lot of brands starting to carry these cushion types of foundation, but I haven’t had a chance to try them! I might need to give it a try soon! I’m with you on the sponge, they can get pretty gross after a while so I usually use a beauty blender or a brush.

Yes, I noticed this trend as well. I think I’ll try a few of them out since I really liked this one a lot! Stacie xo
