Red LED Light for Anti-Aging

October 14, 2021

Do you care about keeping your skin in excellent condition? People often notice as they get older that their skin isn’t as full and plump as it was when they were younger. Not only does the skin become less plump, but fine lines and wrinkles start to appear. However, this process doesn’t necessarily happen overnight. Instead, it happens over time, and using the right products for prevention purposes can help.

Red LED light therapy may sound like a new treatment method for aging, but it has been around for quite some time, and its positive impact on the skin is incredible. You can use red light therapy to prevent those common signs of aging while keeping your skin looking its best.

This is a professional red light device that I get to use at a spa that I go to.

How Does Red Light Therapy Work on the Skin?

Before you decide to use this therapy on your face, it’s important to know how it works on the skin.

  • The LED lights target the surface of the skin to promote the healing of irritated, inflamed skin. In addition, it works to improve the health of the mitochondria, leaving skin looking smoother and brighter than before.
  • The best part about this effective treatment method is that it doesn’t irritate the skin. So, while you’re allowing the red light to hit your face, it won’t cause a burning sensation or any other discomfort.

Because it targets the skin on the surface and beneath it, it’s an incredible thing to use when you want to fight acne breakouts and blemishes, prevent fine lines and wrinkles, reduce the appearance of acne scarring, and have naturally healthier-looking skin. You can expect this painless process to leave your skin looking better than before.

How Often Should I Use Red Light Therapy?

You can use red light therapy multiple times per week and should do so to see the absolute best results. For example, most people will start by completing 20-minute sessions for at least three days each week. However, you can increase the time to 30 minutes and do the red light therapy for as many as five days a week to see promising results that last.

As with anything, start off doing it a few days a week and then work your way up. While you don’t want to overdo it, making sure to add the red light therapy to your skincare routine several times a week can make a difference.

How Can I Use the Red Light Therapy at Home?

Now that you know about the benefits of red light therapy and what it can do for your skin to fight breakouts and signs of aging, you’re probably wondering how you can use it at home to reap the benefits of it.

  • First, it’s good to know that different red light therapy products are available on the market. Of course, some of these products are more expensive than others, so be sure to do your research to determine which product is a good choice for you.
  • Make sure that you’re not using cheap imitation products that don’t produce enough light to be as effective as you need the product to be.
  • You can typically tell if a red light therapy product is worth using by checking the product reviews, looking at the specifications for the product, and even watching reviews on these products on different platforms, such as YouTube.

I did a fun demo of a face mask that has different colored LED lights to treat all kinds of skin issues. This mask is nice because you put it on like glasses and it treats the entire face at one time. You can watch that below.

Can I Use Red Light LED Therapy with Other Skin Care Products?

Yes, it’s safe to use red light LED therapy products with other skincare products, such as your typical facial cleanser, moisturizer, and other serums.

Of course, you’ll want to apply the red light therapy device to clean skin, so be sure to wash your face and pat it dry before applying anything else to your skin.

Once you’ve finished a red light session, you can apply moisturizer to the skin or your favorite treatment before allowing it to dry and go about your day.

It’s a great idea to use red light therapy with your other skincare products because of how well these products can support one another. For example, you may be using an anti-aging cream that keeps your skin hydrated and fights wrinkles.

Including the red light device into your routine would only maximize the results you’d see from using that cream to fight signs of aging and get your skin looking youthful again.

How Do You Use Red Light LED Therapy Devices?

Not all devices are the same. Some are masks that you can put on your face and leave on for the desired amount of time, such as 20-30 minutes. Some are masks that only cover the top or bottom section of the face instead of the entire thing.

And, you can find portable handheld devices that you’d hold and gently press over your skin to treat it. When treating your skin with the handheld device, you’d need to move it around to different spots and target the areas that are bothering you the most.

These products come with an instruction booklet. Be sure to review the instructions to determine how you’d need to use the device to achieve maximum results that will leave you with healthy, glowing skin.

Treat Your Skin with Red Light Therapy

If you have some concerns about signs of aging, such as lines and wrinkles, be sure to use the right products for preventative measures. When you’re treating your skin with the right products, such as red light LED therapy, you can expect to achieve great results.

So, if you’d like to slow down the signs of aging while fighting blemishes and treating unwanted acne scarring left behind from breakouts, choose a red light LED device to use on your face and begin seeing the results in no time.

Here are several different Red LED Lights that I’ve used at home myself. You can click on each one for more information.
