I want to share my flawless skin foundation routine with you. Obviously you can substitute your own products for the ones that I use. Some of the products that I mention are holy grail for me that I’m never caught without. You should always use products that are best for your skin type. My skin is a little crazy. As I get closer (very close) to fifty I’m seeing some changes in my skin. I have dry patches some days and an oily t zone the next. I occasionally have bouts of rosacea (not as often as I used to) and acne breakouts. If I could just get rid of the hormonal acne breakouts sometime soon I think I’d be content.
Below are the steps that I follow when I want light to medium coverage. I prefer a nice natural look to my skin rather than a thick layer of foundation.
Step 1 – Pur Minerals CC Cream
After cleansing my skin in the morning this is where I often start my routine for the day. I’ve been using this Pur Minerals CC Cream in the medium color for almost 2 years. It’s great on it’s own or as a primer for other foundations. I simply apply this with my fingers on clean dry skin.
This product has an spf of 40, so it’s great as a multi-tasker.
Step 2 – Giorgio Armani – Master Corrector
I know this corrector is expensive, but it is completely worth it. It also lasts forever so you don’t have to purchase it often. I like using this to correct the color under my eyes This product is a peachy or salmon shade. The wonderful thing about this product is that it moisturizes the area under eyes while correcting the darkness. I apply it with the brush that it comes with and blend it out with my finger.
Giorgio Armani – Master Corrector – Giorgio Armani – $39.00, 8.00 shipping – Available at Neiman Marcus
Step 3 – MAC Cosmetics – MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
I LOVE this concealer! It was around for quite a while before I ever purchased it. I wish I had tried it sooner. It’s great for under the eyes or anywhere on the face for covering blemishes, redness or dark spots. This is one I don’t plan to run out of. My shade is NW 25. Be sure to get the shade that is right for you.
Puffs – BeautyBlender Royal Blender 1 Purple Sponge
The Beauty Blender should be everyone’s holy grail foundation applicator. It’s definitely mine! I wet the sponge with water and squeeze out the excess. I apply my foundation with this sponge and roll the product on my skin for perfect application every time. I also use it for a variety of tasks such as applying cream blush.

Step 4 – Apply Foundation
On days when I need or want to apply foundation (not just cc cream) I really love this drugstore foundation from Covergirl. My color is #850, Creamy Beige. This foundation gives a gorgeous finish.
CoverGirl – “Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation + Broad Spectrum SPF 20 – $7.79, 5.48 shipping – Available at Amazon.com
Step 5 – Illuminate
This is a great drugstore product. I use it to illuminate or highlight under the eyes, down the front of my nose as well as the other areas of my face that need brightness.
Maybelline – Lumi Touch Maybelline Dream Concealer – $5.99, 5.50 shipping – Available at Amazon.com Marketplace
Steps 6 and 7 – Blush and Bronzer
I use a wide variety of blushes and bronzers. When applying this gorgeous cream blush from Make Up For Ever, I use the Beauty Blender sponge. I prefer to add in cream type products rather than adding layer after layer of powder products.
Make Up For Ever – High Definition Second Skin Cream Blush – # 310 (Rosewood) 2.8g/0.09oz – $32.00, Free shipping – Available at Amazon.com Marketplace
Step 8 – Setting Powder
I use a variety of powders to set my makeup. Quite often I use my palette from Hourglass with the 3 different Ambient Lighting Powders. It just sort of blurs everything and makes the skin look flawless.
