Life

Feeling Funky

December 2, 2012

This past week I have been in such a weird funk.  I am quite the optimist for the most part, but this week has been weird.  I will try to explain:

1.  There were 10 home break-ins in my small town of 1000 residents last weekend.  Our town is on Forbes list as the most affluent town in the US.  Crazy.  Not necessarily true, but that’s the way the media reports it.  Four of the homes were on my street.  It happened over Thanksgiving weekend.  We have a gate at the entrance to the neighborhood with surveillance, most homes have security systems and home safes as well.  However, the low life professional thieves were able to get into the homes without setting the alarms off.  All of the homes were vacant for the holiday weekend.  Some of the homes were in another neighborhood that has guards and even more security.  The reason I am sharing this is that I don’t want this to happen to anyone else.  It makes me SICK that these low life coward criminals have chosen to make their living this way. I think that the news media should be broadcasting this news loudly to make citizens everywhere alert to this type of crime.   Just be smart about things.  Hide your possessions where nobody could find them!  Get a safe deposit box at your bank if you have to.  Don’t let the thieves get the things that you or your ancestors have worked hard for.  It’s such a shame to me!

2.  My husband was traveling this week.  I had my security company come and install extra security to my system.  However, I hardly recall sleeping much.  My hubby gets home tonight so I will probably be asleep by 9:00!  LOL!

3.  Missing my mom…  I can’t believe that it hasn’t been even a month since my mom passed.  It feels like it’s been years.  These days have been so long.  I really am fine and accepting most of the time.  I just have my moments, as can be expected.  I’ve really thrown myself into my project that I created as a tribute to my mom.  I officially launched it this weekend.  If you want to be a part of it stop by the website and sign up.  We also need more people to send cards to.  If you know of anyone, please sign them up!

4.  Hormones (enough said there).  LOL!

I plan to have a better week this coming week.  It will be a busy one, but hopefully much more productive!  Thanks for listening…

What a week! I’m sure you are going to be going through so many emotions with your mom’s passing. Please know you will be in my prayers. Last week was a strange week for me also. A local runner that runs the same route that I do was attacked while running in the middle of the day. I would’ve been out running also if it wasn’t for a cold that I had. It really opened my eyes on how to be a safer runner. I’m now carry a switchblade and pepper spray. This area is such a nice area of town so it’s eye-opening. Please know I’m thinking of you and hope you have a much better week.

So sorry you are in a funk, Stacie. It is completely understandable with the passing of your Mom, I can’t imagine how hard that has been for you. As for the rude people stealing from your neighbors, I would be scared too!!! So glad you had extra cameras installed….. xoxo tiffani

Hey — I found you through Tiffani’s blog. Sorry about your mother. My father is really sick and has been in the hospital for two weeks. I need to go see him but my mother insists he’s improving. It’s terribly hard to see your parents suffer (or anyone for that matter) with the effects of old age.

If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few d If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few days, I’m in Michigan for our annual family reunion. And I must say, the weather here has been in the 70’s during the day which makes me not miss the heat wave back at home in Texas one bit.

Running quick errands on a hot day calls for a loose fitting dress and comfortable sneakers.

Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already reaching for rich fall colors. 🍂

#ad One of my favorite ways to transition into fall is by layering lightweight pieces from @soft_surroundings that keep me comfortable on warm afternoons but are also perfect for when the temperatures start to cool down. It’s an easy way to ease into the next season.

These warm, earthy colors feel so timeless, and each piece can be mixed and matched with other wardrobe favorites.

I started with an eyeshadow palette that has a variety of textures and shades in the rose family to create a million different looks. And yes, you can wear shimmers and whatever else makes you feel confident even if you’re a more mature woman.😎

You can’t go wrong any of the makeup brushes from BK Beauty to apply and blend your makeup. This eyeshadow brush is one of many that I love.

The foundation stick is new for me and I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life! It’s that good. Just swipe, blend and go. Available in so many shades that there’s one for everyone!🙌🏻

Adding depth and glow to the face couldn’t be easier with a multitasking palette of bronzer, highlighter and blush. It’s perfect for travel too.✨

The lip glow is fun because it’s a pH reactive one so it’s almost like having a custom shade that’s just for you.
I’m kinda giddy over here because I get to use thi I’m kinda giddy over here because I get to use this beautiful Louis Vuitton handbag for a month. I borrowed it from Vivrelle and their membership service. They have hundreds or maybe even thousands of luxury designer bags to choose from.

It’s a great way to try beautiful bags without committing to a single bag. I’m having so much fun with this membership!👜

Thank you @vivrelle for the gift of this membership!
