Optimistic Monday

December 3, 2012

Happy Monday Everyone!  It’s time for my Optimistic Monday post.  Please link up below if you have a blog and want to share your goals or another positive post.
Goals for last week:
1.  Get in 4 walks this week.
I only got in 3.  I’m happy that I did the 3, but just could not get with the program last week.
See my previous post called Feeling Funky.
11/26/12 3.01 miles, 11/28/12 3.01 miles, 12/2/12 3.31 miles
2.  Film at least 2 YouTube videos.  I really miss this!!
I filmed 5 videos and uploaded 2 so far.  I tried to film a few at a time so I would have them ready to go.  I just need to edit a little bit.

3.  Make 2 new things from Pinterest.  It might be food or it might be a craft.
I bought the craft supplies to make these coasters that I saw on Pinterest.  Does that count?

via Pinterest
These would be great for gifts!

I made these delicious muffins too.  But, they are from Betty Crocker, not scratch.  If you haven’t tried them you MUST!  I made them as mini muffins so that I wouldn’t feel too guilty eating more than just one.

These are so good!
Thank you Veronica (my Fall swap partner) for sending these to me!!

4.  Start some holiday shopping.  There wasn’t any Black Friday shopping for me.  I’m still contemplating Cyber Monday.

I started my shopping but I still have a long way to go…

5.  Relax a little and read a book (fiction and happy things only).
I didn’t read a book (even though I already have many downloaded to my Kindle app.  Instead I read a few magazines.  I have several subscriptions and need to catch up.

6.  Kick off my Give A Smile Today card sending program on December 1st.
YES!  I sent out the list of our first 3 card recipients to over 40 senders.  Please sign up if you want to do some volunteer work, but maybe don’t have the time to go somewhere to do it.  You can do this from the comfort of your home and on your own time schedule.  It’s quite gratifying!  Also, send us some people who need cards and smiles sent to them!!

Goals for this week:
1.  Walk
You know I always include this in my weekly goals.
2.  Get my Christmas shopping almost complete.
No more procrastinating.  Just do it!
3.  Write thank you cards that are overdo.
4.  Arrive early for all appointments this week.
I’m almost always on time.  But I do prefer to arrive early.
5.  3-4 blog posts and 2-3 Youtube videos.
6.  Order my Christmas cards this week.
I’ve taken pictures of my kids recently and plan to put them together for our holiday photo card.  I enjoy sending and receiving photo cards every year.
7.  One day at a time…
I have a lot going on this week but plan to tackle it one day at a time!

Have a great week!

I resisted getting sucked into pinterest…but now that I’m there, I love it! I say yes – the coasters count! …finding them AND buying the supplies. That totally counts.

If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few d If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few days, I’m in Michigan for our annual family reunion. And I must say, the weather here has been in the 70’s during the day which makes me not miss the heat wave back at home in Texas one bit.

Running quick errands on a hot day calls for a loose fitting dress and comfortable sneakers.

Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already reaching for rich fall colors. 🍂

#ad One of my favorite ways to transition into fall is by layering lightweight pieces from @soft_surroundings that keep me comfortable on warm afternoons but are also perfect for when the temperatures start to cool down. It’s an easy way to ease into the next season.

These warm, earthy colors feel so timeless, and each piece can be mixed and matched with other wardrobe favorites.

Do you have a favorite fashion season?

I started with an eyeshadow palette that has a variety of textures and shades in the rose family to create a million different looks. And yes, you can wear shimmers and whatever else makes you feel confident even if you’re a more mature woman.😎

You can’t go wrong any of the makeup brushes from BK Beauty to apply and blend your makeup. This eyeshadow brush is one of many that I love.

The foundation stick is new for me and I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life! It’s that good. Just swipe, blend and go. Available in so many shades that there’s one for everyone!🙌🏻

Adding depth and glow to the face couldn’t be easier with a multitasking palette of bronzer, highlighter and blush. It’s perfect for travel too.✨

The lip glow is fun because it’s a pH reactive one so it’s almost like having a custom shade that’s just for you.

Comment CODE for the link and my discount code that gets you 50% off your first two months.

It’s a great way to try beautiful bags without committing to a single bag. I’m having so much fun with this membership!👜

Thank you @vivrelle for the gift of this membership!
