Technology Devices That I Love

Did you know that I’m officially a total gadget geek? I admit that I have been addicted to trying out new technology ever since I was a child. I remember begging my dad to buy me a typewriter. Next came the tape recorder. My friends and I would hang out after school and pretend that we had our own radio show which we would record on my very cool at the time tape recorder.

As an adult I had the first Amazon Kindle device (still have it in a box somewhere). Nobody knew about digital books at the time and some doubted the future of reading would go in that direction. The list goes on and on. Some things never change… I still love to have the latest in technology devices, whether it’s something for my home or some fun new beauty tool.

Amazon Echo Show and Amazon Echo Spot

I talked about the Amazon Echo device a few years ago because I was completely obsessed. As we all know, technology gets even better as time goes on. The Amazon Echo Spot and the Amazon Echo Show are now at the top of my list. They both have camera functions which makes them pretty exciting to me. We have both of the devices in my home. I bought the Show device for myself and use it several times a day. It is SO cool!! I keep mine on the kitchen counter and talk to Alexa all day long for different things I want to know or learn. The device has amazing sound/speakers for listening to music. The screen is large and very clear. I ask for recipes, videos, weather reports and more all day long.

The Echo spot is pretty cool too. I bought that one for my husband and son for Christmas. It’s more of the size of an alarm clock that can be conveniently be used on a nightstand. It performs all of the same functions as the Show (I believe). You can even do a video call with other people who have these Amazon Echo devices. We need to try this out sometime, especially when my son is cooking at college and wants to show me something he made or has a question about what he’s cooked.

Instant Pot

This is my new favorite cooking tool. I’m sure you’ve all heard about the Instant Pot because it’s been all over the internet for a few years now. I just bought one for myself after buying three others as gifts the past few holidays. I posted my cooking shenanigans on my Instagram stories. You can go to my highlights if you want to see more about what I made. I will tell you that this pressure cooker, nine-in-one device is very easy to use to make delicious food. I’m a little late to the party on this one.

Canon Selphy Printer

I am so bad at going to the store to get pictures printed. The majority of the frames in my house had pictures of strangers that came with them until recently. Now that I have this handy little gadget, my frames are filled with pictures of my family instead. The printer prints up to 4×6 full color gorgeous quality photos. The Canon Selphy printer is very affordable and totally transportable as well. It’s lightweight and smaller than most 5×7 picture frames.

Ember Temperature Controlled Mug

My daughter bought me one of these for Christmas this year. What a great invention! Here’s how it works: you charge up your mug using the charging pad. When you put your hot coffee into it, the mug will keep the coffee hot for “up to” a few hours depending on the temperature you set it to. You set everything using an app on your phone. I can walk around my house for about an hour and a half in the morning and keep my coffee at a steady hot 130 temperature until I finish it. So clever! The Ember Mug is a little expensive, so it’s definitely more of a luxury item.
