Have you ever made your own beauty products at home? I recently received an advanced copy of the book  DIY Beauty by Ina de Clercq and I’m feeling inspired. The book is published by Simon and Schuster’s Adams Media and it’s available on June 4, 2019. Pick up your copy if you’re like me and you love experimenting and making lotions and potions. I think it would be fun to get together with a few girlfriends and mix up a few batches to share.

DIY Beauty Book

DIY Beauty has recipes for face masks, hair products, skincare products, deodorant, makeup and bath products. The recipes allow you to understand what exactly is in your product and how to customize each recipe to fit your specific needs. In addition, it contains instructions on how to make so many cult favorites. It will save you money by making these products at home.

I feel like summer is the perfect time to experiment with making some products on my own. With the kids out of school for the summer, you could spend a day making some fun bath bombs for everyone to enjoy their summer baths.

DIY bath bombs

You can make homemade bath bombs such as these inspired by Lush’s Intergalactic ones

The book offers recipes for 100 products that are inspired by favorites from brands such as Kiehls, Dr. Jart+, Tom Ford, Moroccanoil, Herbivore and more. But before you get started crafting your own products you’ll want to read the first chapter. Ina explains the tools needed, along with where to purchase, how to use them and tips for packaging and storage.

Why do you need DIY Beauty?

All-natural ingredients are used for each recipe. The beauty of creating your own products is that you know EXACTLY what’s in them. Nothing is hidden within words that you can’t pronounce. I’ve been looking on Amazon for some of the ingredients that I want to pick up along with some really fun empty containers to put my products in (*see below). Think of all the gifts you could make at home too… Use fun labels and pretty packaging and you’re all set to make someone else’s day!

easy DIY lip scrub

This twist-up lip scrub (inspired by Dior’s Lip Sugar Scrub) is just what I need to keep my lips soft and smooth and ready for lipstick.

This book is the perfect addition to my beauty arsenal. DIY Beauty is available June 4, 2019. You can purchase in stores or purchase now over on Amazon. The book can save you money on popular beauty products by making your own at home. You’ll have a hard time choosing which product to make first. It just may satisfy the inner scientist in you too!

Below are some of the fun things I found on Amazon for DIY Beauty that you may want to pick up too! These are affiliate links and support my blog. Thanks for your continued support.

This would be a fun book to have. I think it would make a great grad present with a few supplies. I have a few grad parties for high schoolers so I’ll have to look into it.

I’d love to learn how to make my own body scrub and bath bombs. I feel like those are two products that I could probably make way cheaper at home than what I pay for them at the stores.

Instagram post 18084186709140860 The Dermstick for Pores was formulated by Dr. Schultz to decrease the appearance of pores. It contains a proprietary blend of ingredients that have proven results on 100% of people who participated in a clinical trial. Pretty impressive!! Dermstick in used in conjunction with your regular skincare products. It’s only applied to the areas with enlarged pores.

I’ve been using this for about 6 weeks and there’s definitely a visible improvement. Go to the @beautyrx website for more info on this product as well as many others that can improve every aspect of your skin’s appearance. Are you looking to improve your skin? #prsample
Instagram post 17868177487550527 The holiday season is in full swing...⠀
⠀
Do you gift yourself during the holidays? I always seem to pick up things for myself when I'm shopping for others. I recently purchased this gorgeous set from It Cosmetics for under $40 on QVC. They have the best value sets, especially on beauty products.⠀
⠀
This is the Naturally Pretty Lip and Cheek Holiday set. It has 3 products that are perfect for everyone.⠀
⠀
1. Blurred Lines Smooth Fill Lipstick⠀
2. Je Ne Sais Quoi Hydrating Color Awakening Lip Serum⠀
3. CC+ Ombre Radiance Blush⠀
⠀
These are all repurchases for me, so that should tell you something about the quality of these products. I linked the set on the LIKEtoKNOW.it shopping app. Follow me there as I try to post links to the products that I love.

Instagram post 17878236964470394 Do you ever take a leap outside of your comfort zone? Afterwards you look back and wonder what you were so worried about, right?! ⠀
⠀
I said yes to recording a podcast with a friend who wanted me to give tips on beauty and skincare for busy moms. I’m obviously passionate about the topic and maybe even a little obsessed. ⠀
⠀
All that worry about recording was for nothing. Everything went great and the podcast is now live! You can go to my blog to listen. ⠀
⠀
How often do you do things out of your comfort zone?
Instagram post 18013091887259196 I’m so happy to have been introduced to Mr. Incredible! ⠀
⠀
My hair is thick, wavy and gets frizzy really easily. I recently bought this leave-in conditioner when I had a blowout at Drybar.⠀
⠀
It keeps my hair smooth and frizz free and that makes me very happy!😁⠀
⠀
Have you tried this or do you have another powerhouse hair product that I need to try?
