A Brighter and Healthier Smile

July 24, 2015

This product was provided for review.  All opinions are my own and are not influenced by anyone else. #ISSAbyFOREO #iFabbomember

Taking care of your teeth is one of the most important things you can do for your overall health.  I’m sure you’ve heard that healthy teeth and gums help lead to a healthy heart.  There is now a new style toothbrush in town from the Swedish brand called FOREO.  The recently released ISSA is a very unique style toothbrush designed with cutting edge technology.  It has an incredibly long battery life that lasts through 365 brushing sessions without having to re-charge.  There is no docking charger like other electric toothbrushes either.  Due to the material that the toothbrush is made from there is no need to replace the brush head every three months like other electric toothbrushes.

review of the ISSA by FOREO toothbrush

The ISSA by FOREO electric toothbrush

The box contained one regular size ISSA toothbrush, a USB charger, a travel pouch, a warranty registration card along with a detailed instruction manual.

Foreo says ISSA is the “world’s first electric toothbrush made completely from silicone.  Its round edges and non-porous bristles provide strong microbial resistance for optimal oral hygiene. The bristles are soft and flexible, giving your gums a gentle, pulsating massage while leaving you with a brighter and healthier smile.”

The ISSA is available in several different color options.  It is also available in two different sizes, regular and mini.  I have a light mint blue colored ISSA in the regular size.  I’ve been using it daily for over a month now and have easily taken it on several trips with me.  It is very simple to use.  You just push a start button on the handle and begin brushing your teeth.  It is timed to vibrate at intervals letting you know when to switch areas that you are brushing.  It automatically turns itself off after the recommended two minutes.

This toothbrush has both pros and cons in my opinion.  For starters, I have a smaller size mouth for an adult and I find that I can’t reach all areas of my teeth properly due to the large size of the brush head.  These are the areas on the inside of my teeth closer to the tongue.  The individual silicone “bristles” of the toothbrush are rather large as well and I don’t know how well they are getting between my teeth.  However, I feel that with regular flossing the areas between the teeth are clean.  I love that the bristles are non-abrasive like traditional toothbrushes can be.  The fact that this toothbrush only has to be charged twice a year is a bonus as well as the once a year brush head replacement.

This toothbrush is definitely attractive and fun and I enjoy using it.  The ISSA by FOREO can be purchased at Sephora and online at sites such as Amazon.  The regular size is almost $300, which is quite an expensive investment.  When I go to my dentist in a few months for my regular dental check-up I will be able to further evaluate whether this toothbrush is as effective as I want it to be.  We all know that hearing those magic words “you have no cavities” is the determining factor in how effective our tooth brushing has been for the previous six months.  I’ll let you know what my dentist says when I go for my check-up in September.

I agree, the dentist appointment will be a good way of knowing if this works well. My teeth feel clean, but I need to be convinced by the dentist first. Stacie xo

•a body makeup product that helps cover, disguise and blur my dark spots from sun damage from too many years spent in the sun.

•an at-home FDA cleared fractional laser to improve the appearance of my skin and even help get rid of some of those dark spots. I’m using it nightly.

•some tasty gummy supplements I’ve been using including a multivitamin and a gummy prebiotic and probiotic combo to keep my gut happy

•and a balm that works great for keeping my skin hydrated that I like to dab under my eyes and on the lines above my lips because hydration helps make fine lines look better/less obvious when I look in the mirror.

I’ve been using the Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream, and I love how hydrated, smooth and refreshed my skin looks and feels. Our skin changes as we age and keeping it moisturized with effective ingredients is one of the simplest ways I keep mine looking firmer, smoother, healthier and more radiant at 61 years old.

The @olay Micro-Sculpting Cream has triple collagen peptides, niacinamide and pro-vitamin B5 to support younger looking skin.

If you’re looking for dramatic results without taking drastic measures, then this is a moisturizer you will be impressed with. It layers beautifully under makeup and delivers lasting hydration.

Comment your skincare goals and save this reel for your next beauty shopping trip.♥️
