Can You Really See a Dermatologist at Home?

June 29, 2016

What will they think of next?!  You can now have a visit with a dermatologist for some common skin conditions from the comfort of your own home.  Talk about the space age!  I think we’re catching up to the Jestson’s.  LOL!  Yoderm is a service that provides you with a skincare consultation with a dermatologist using your computer or mobile device.  It’s so easy to use.  No more wasting your valuable time sitting in a dermatologist’s office waiting to be seen for common skin conditions.

The process is easy and fast.  The service can be utilized in 20 different states in the US.  Yoderm is mostly used for patients with acne.  However, there are a few other skin conditions that can be treated on the website as well.  My daughter recently used the services of Yoderm for some acne that she was having.

  1. She simply went to their website and set up her account.
  2. She was assigned a dermatologist.
  3. She filled out her basic health information, described her skin issues, and took pictures of her skin.
  4. The next day she received a written report from her dermatologist.
  5. The dermatologist sent her prescription into our local pharmacy and she picked it up there.
Yoderm review

It’s very easy to use the Yoderm website

dermatologist consultation

You take pictures of your skin and submit them to the dermatologist.

There are times when you’re too busy to get into a doctor’s office or the doctor doesn’t have a time to see you that works with your schedule.  Or, perhaps you’re a little shy and/or embarrassed to go see a doctor.  This is the perfect solution for you.  A consultation with a board-certified dermatologist licensed in your state is $59.  This price includes a consultation and written report within 24 hours of submitting your complete information (this is not covered by insurance).  The doctor transmits your prescriptions to your pharmacy.  Depending on your insurance company, these prescriptions may or may not be covered.  In our case, her prescription was covered and we just had a co-pay.

Verdict:  The entire process was pretty amazing from start to finish.  My daughter filled out her consultation at 11:00 pm.  By 6:30 the next morning she had her report in her hands along with the doctor sending in the prescription.  The sun wasn’t even up nor was our pharmacy even open yet!  It was easy to complete the paperwork.  She had a written report as well as a prescription for acne medicine in her hands in less than 12 hours.  She’s been using the medicine for just over a week now and her skin is clearing up beautifully!  I recommend this service if you or your loved ones are having a common skin issue that you’d like to get resolved.

Using Yoderm is just like have an old-fashioned house call from the doctor.  You can even stay in your pj’s if you want and nobody knows!

What do you think of this online dermatologist service?  Would you use Yoderm to take care of common skin problems?

*We received a complimentary consultation.  All opinions are ours and are not influenced by anyone else.

Sounds like a great service. In a lot of places, it’s hard to find a good derm, or they’re not taking new patients.

Now that’s amazing! Around here, you have to wait 6 months for an appointment with a dermatologist. This would help with those kind of scheduling problems. fabulous

This sounds like an awesome service. I see my Dermatologist a few times a year already because my Eczema and my skin is so darn sensitive, but this is such a great option when you are experiencing something you’re not sure of.

Yes, this has been really good for us. We all still need to see a dermatologist yearly for skin checks, but this is good for in between times for sure. Stacie xo

#ad I picked up some new and old faves from @lorea #ad I picked up some new and old faves from @lorealparis on my recent run to Target that are so good for us mature ladies, so I just had to share them with you because there’s no gatekeeping around here when it comes to hydrated healthy looking skin.

The hydrating balm foundation and blush have 80% skincare ingredients, so they help plump up my skin to minimize the appearance of my fine lines and wrinkles. They feel lightweight and give the most beautiful radiant finish. I also like that they have buildable coverage, come with an easy-to-use applicator and a mirrored compact for touchups on the go.

The Panorama Mascara gives my lashes volume without clumps or flaking and it’s smudge resistant. I love the applicator brush because it grabs each lash for even application.

And the setting spray is the perfect final touch with a micro mist that dries instantly for a breathable, radiant finish.

So, tell me, are you running to @target to grab these products after seeing them in action?
