What is Skin Cycling and Should You Try It?

March 16, 2023

Skin cycling has been gaining popularity in the skincare world, with many claiming it to be the secret to achieving a flawless complexion. But what exactly is skin cycling, and should you try it? We are going to explore the concept of skin cycling, its benefits, and whether or not it’s worth incorporating into your skincare routine.

What is Skin Cycling?

Skin cycling refers to the practice of changing up your skincare routine every few days, weeks or months to prevent your skin from becoming accustomed to certain products. The idea behind skin cycling is that by switching up your routine regularly, you can avoid hitting a plateau in your skincare progress and continue seeing improvements in your complexion.

There are different approaches to skin cycling, but generally, it involves using different products or adjusting the frequency of use for specific products. For example, one might switch from a gentle cleanser to an exfoliating cleanser every other week or switch from a hydrating serum to a brightening serum every month.

Benefits of Skin Cycling

The main benefit of skin cycling is that it can help prevent stagnation in your skincare routine. When you use the same products day after day, your skin can become used to them, leading to decreased effectiveness over time. By switching things up regularly, you can keep your skin guessing and ensure that it continues responding positively to the products you’re using.

Skin cycling can be beneficial for addressing different concerns at different times. For example, if you have dry skin in the winter months but oily skin in the summer months, you might adjust your skincare routine accordingly during those times of year.

Should You Try Skin Cycling?

Whether or not you should try skin cycling ultimately depends on your individual needs and preferences. If you’ve hit a plateau in your skincare routine and aren’t seeing any further improvements in your complexion despite consistent product use, it may be worth trying out some new products or adjusting how often you use certain items.

However, if you have sensitive or reactive skin that doesn’t respond well to change, then skin cycling may not be right for you. Introducing new products too frequently can lead to irritation or breakouts for some people.

It’s also important to note that while some people swear by skin cycling as a way to achieve their best complexion yet, others don’t find it necessary at all. Ultimately, everyone’s skincare journey is unique and what works for one person may not work for another.

Tips for Incorporating Skin Cycling

If you do decide to give skin cycling a try, there are some tips that can help make the process smoother:

  • Start slowly: Don’t introduce too many new products at once, start with one or two changes at first.
  • Pay attention: Keep track of how each product affects your complexion so that if any issues arise (such as irritation), you know which product(s) may be causing them.
  • Be patient: It takes time for most skincare products to show results, don’t expect overnight changes.
  • Listen to your body: If something doesn’t feel right (such as increased sensitivity), don’t force yourself to stick with it just because others recommend it.

While there are potential benefits associated with regular adjustment of one’s skincare regimen through “skin-cycling,” whether or not someone should try this approach depends on their unique needs and goals as well as how their body reacts. Some individuals will thrive from introducing variety into their routines while others may find stability more effective; either way paying attention and being patient are key components towards achieving optimal health and vibrancy within our largest organ, our beautiful SKIN!

Last week, the Cancer Hope Network brought the com Last week, the Cancer Hope Network brought the community together in Morristown, NJ for an incredible day of golf and pickleball.

Their fundraising tournaments were filled with hope, connection, and support for those facing cancer by providing free, one-on-one support to cancer patients and their loved ones. 💙

Are you or someone you know is facing a cancer diagnosis? You can learn more about this amazing organization or donate, by visiting cancerhopenetwork.org today!

Cancer Hope Network provides free, confidential, one-on-one emotional support to people impacted by cancer — including patients, survivors, and their loved ones.

Here’s how they do it:

* 💬 Peer Support: They match individuals facing cancer with trained volunteer support mentors who are cancer survivors or caregivers themselves. These mentors offer guidance, hope, and understanding from someone who’s “been there.”
* 🤝 Personalized Matching: Matches are based on factors like diagnosis, treatment type, age, gender, and personal concerns — ensuring relatable and meaningful connections.
* 💙 Support for Everyone: They offer support not just for patients, but also for caregivers, family members, and friends who are navigating a loved one’s cancer journey.
* 💯 Always Free & Confidential: Services are available at no cost, nationwide, regardless of insurance or treatment center affiliation.

Cancer Hope Network’s mission is simple but powerful: “No one should face cancer alone.”
