Have you seen the gorgeous new eyeshadow palette collection from Smashbox? I happened to be online late one night and saw a new collaboration story in the People Magazine that I was reading before going to sleep. I was intrigued so I immediately checked on the Sephora website to see the entire Cover Shot collection and was lucky to be able to purchase the two palettes that I wanted to try. I had early access sue to my Sephora VIB Rouge status (one of the few perks).
The collection is a collaboration between Smashbox and actress and social media powerhouse Shay Mitchell. Smashbox worked with Shay to create a unique personality for each one. There are a total of seven different palettes from matte to metallic. The palettes retail for $29 each and can be found at Smashbox, Ulta, Sephora, Macy’s and more. I will warn you that the palettes are already sold out in a lot of places. I’m sure they’ll be restocked soon.

The palettes are sold individually. Each palette measures about 4.5″ x 2.5″. They’re the perfect size for travel or on-the-go touch-ups.
The Golden Hour Palette is my favorite of the collection (so far). The variety of shades are rather warm. With being said though, I think these colors look gorgeous on all eye colors to make them pop. I like that this palette includes two matte shadows.
I’m enjoying the Matte Palette as well. The shades included are warm nudes, cool mauves and a deep, dramatic black. I don’t wear all matte eyes very often. However, after experimenting with this palette I’ve done so several times. I really like the results. The shades offer a good amount of pigmentation and blend out nicely.
Verdict:
I recommend the palettes in the Cover Shot collection. I’ve only purchased two of the available seven so far. I’m pleased with the pigmentation and wearability. I can create day looks, night looks and everything in between.
