How to Switch Up Your Skincare for Fall

October 5, 2018

As we move from Summer to Fall, it’s important to switch up our skincare and beauty routines.  Humidity decreases, our skin can become dry, and products that did wonders for us in the warmer months can cause flare-ups or issues when the temperature drops.

Brianna Thompson, founder of Brianna Michelle Beauty reveals her skin care beauty secrets, pro tips and tricks for switching up your routine in preparation for the changing season.

“As the cooler temperatures settle in, you’ll find it’s time to change up your skin care routine. Here are some helpful time saver skin care tips to leave your skin hydrated, soft and supple,” says Brianna.

How to Switch Up Your Skincare for Fall

  1. Exfoliate – This is the MOST IMPORTANT thing you can do for your skin. If you’re not removing the dead skin on the surface, nothing you put on your skin will penetrate and work properly.
  1. Switch to an oil or cream cleanser versus an glycolic base. These will help keep natural oils locked into the skin, and prevent your skin from stripping and drying out.
  1. Mask – Hydrating masks are always good to wear around the house while your cleaning or doing laundry. 10-15 minutes of extra hydration can help keep the fine lines and crows feet from popping out as temperatures drop.

You know that Stacie loves using face masks on a weekly basis.

  1. Vitamins – Yes, they really do help!  I love Vitafusion Gorgeous Hair Skin & Nails. They give my skin the nutrients it needs to keep the lipids healthy and give me a healthy glow.
  1. Serums are your best friend. Serums are the only form of skin care product that actually will change the skin due to them penetrating the deepest. I recommend a hydrating serum and anti-aging serum. They can be used both day and night and help cell turn over and work to provide change from the inside out of the skins barriers.

What do you do to switch up your skincare for Fall? Or, do you keep your skincare routine the same year round? We’d love to know!

Great article. Using a face mask as part of your regular skin care routine is a MUST for a healthy skin.

I ordered some of our family faves on Walmart.com using Walmart’s Expess Delivery service straight to our doorstep in just a few hours. It’s incredible how times have changed from our younger days!

My husband and I both love the mild taste of Listerine® Total Care Alcohol Free Mouthwash. It makes us feel like we’re killing all of those extra germs that brushing misses.

Hubby suffers from seasonal allergies and winter is the worst for him. So he relies on ZYRTEC® Allergy Relief Tablets 30ct pack to help him deal with all of his symptoms. He feels relief in an hour and it lasts for a full 24 hours.

We both use Motrin® for any aches, pains or fevers that seem to always sneak up unexpectedly. Fingers crossed that we both stay healthy.

And the BAND-AID® Brand Flexible Fabric Tie-Dye Bandages are for my grandkids because it never seems to fail that someone gets hurt when they visit our house. And a pretty Band-Aid always makes things feel better in a jiffy. These are great because they’re flexible and stretch while providing protection.

Make your list of products to start your year with healthier habits too and use my link to order now.

A walk a day keeps the doctor away! I’ve mentioned A walk a day keeps the doctor away! I’ve mentioned before that I try to walk every single day for both the physical and mental benefits I get from it.

And it definitely doesn’t hurt to look cute while doing any form of exercise. I bought a few of the air essentials sweatshirts because they’re so soft and comfortable.

Currently on sale in a bunch of colors so I’m planning to add a few more to my cart. Comment for the LINK.

The beautiful wool cardigan and straight leg jeans are wardrobe staples for me. They’re from Petite Studio NYC, a brand founded by a petite woman who struggled to find clothes that fit right.

You can visit my blog for more info on the brand, these 2 pieces and their Archive Sale.

Bonus: this is a cute look for Valentine’s Day too!❤️

I must admit that I’m a little bit worn out from this first full week of work for the new year. I’m tired but at the same time I know how blessed and lucky I am that I get to do what I love for my work so I’m not going to complain.💗

Even when I’m busy, I don’t miss my daily walks because I need them for exercise and a clear mind. I thought I’d drop these pics of some of my favorite athletic wear because they’re on sale for up to 40% off right now.🎉
