Rodan + Fields Redefine + Acute Care

I’ve been trying out the Rodan + Fields Redefine + Acute Care skincare regimen.  I’ve been using these products exclusively for six weeks now and wanted to share my experience with you.  After using the products for just a few days my nail technician, whom I’ve known for about nine years, said to me “What is different about you today?  You look so good.”  I had to attribute it to my new skincare routine.  My makeup was exactly the same as it always was.  I was definitely flattered at her compliment.  I also saw a subtle but beautiful brightening to my skin in that short time frame.  After using all of the products for over six weeks now, I wanted to review them for you.

Let’s start with the scientific information from the website:

Redefine by Rodan + Fields is a four product regimen that “layers cosmetic ingredients and proven peptide technology to fight and defend against potential visible signs of aging.  In addition to the REDEFINE regimen, REDEFINE ACUTE CARE promises to Retexturize, Reveal, Refine and Redefine your skin.  ACUTE CARE is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles after ten applications when used along with the REDEFINE regimen.”

ACUTE CARE’s proprietary Liquid Cone Technology smooths expression lines with line-defying peptides and hyaluronic acid, penetrating directly into the wrinkle for a more youthful appearance.  The amazing ACUTE CARE patches contain ONLY TWO wrinkle-smoothing ingredients:  Hyaluronic acid and Sh-Oligopeptide-1.

Hyaluronic Acid:  This naturally-occurring, powerful humectant plumps wrinkles by keeping skin super-hydrated, supple, firm and young-looking.

Sh-Oligopeptide-1:  Chosen for its skin-enhancing properties, this potent peptide helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles and visibly increases skin firmness and elasticity, diminishing the look of unwanted expression lines.  It’s so simple to use, you can even do it in your sleep.

How I used these products:  I used the Daily Cleansing Mask twice a day (morning and evening).  This cleanser makes my skin feel very clean and exfoliated.  It doesn’t leave the skin feeling tight or dry.  I follow up with the Pore Minimizing Toner after each wash.  This step is important to make the large pores on my cheeks and nose appear smaller.  In the morning I use the Triple Defense Treatment.  I absolutely love this under my makeup.  It provides a nice amount of hydration along with some fantastic spf ingredients.  Makeup applies smoothly on top of this layer.  In the evenings I use the Overnight Restorative Cream.  I do occasionally add some of my topical prescription medications when they are needed for rosacea or hormonal acne.

The Acute Care is a system of small patches that are applied to the skin before bed.  Each patch is infused with the active ingredients to smooth away wrinkles while you sleep.  The package came with ten pairs of these patches.  I tried to spread out the use of these patches so that they would last me for most of the six weeks.  I enjoyed putting these on at night since all of their work was done while I slept.  My skin is ultra sensitive to adhesives but I didn’t have a problem with these patches.  I had a slight amount of redness that resolved quickly.

Verdict:  I love everything about the Rodan + Fields Redefine + Acute Care products.  My skin looks great and feels great.  My skin is definitely brighter than it was a few weeks ago.  The size of my pores is decreasing.  I feel like the lines around my eyes are softer.  The only thing I didn’t care for was the packaging of the Overnight Restorative Cream and the Triple Defense Treatment.  I would have preferred a squeeze tube for these products, like the others in this regimen.  If you’re interested in finding out more information on these products you can do so on the Rodan and Fields website.
