Did you know that PÜR Minerals recently changed their name to PÜR? I’ve been a HUGE fan of the PÜR CC Cream for several years now. It’s a “holy grail, can’t be without it” makeup product for me. I was excited to hear that the line was launching a brand new foundation called the Pur HydraFluid Water Serum Foundation. It is available now at the PÜR website as well as Ulta and Kohl’s stores. Each tube is 1 ounce and retails for $39.
The foundation is described on the Pur website as follows:
“PÜR’s encapsulated water complex delivers Swiss Alps-sourced water to hydrate the skin for lasting radiance while providing silky, medium coverage. HydraFluid water serum foundation is incomparably lightweight yet offers the perfect amount of coverage and satisfies the desire for dewy, breathable, luminous looking skin. This is the chosen foundation to create “bare-looking” but perfect complexion whatever your skin tone or type. Water sourced from the Swiss Alps is known for its high purity and is the ideal mineral water to refresh skin.”
Let’s talk about the benefits of the ingredients in this foundation… “The HydraFluid Foundation utilizes phospholipids to deliver water deep into the skin for hydration. The Ceretin Complex and Vitamin E also help to smooth, firm and lift the appearance of the skin. Skin is soothed with antioxidant benefits as well.”
The HydraFluid Foundation is available is five shades, from light to deep. It comes in a squeeze tube with a unique clear nozzle tip.
The recommended application method is to apply 2-3 drops to a Pur Liquid Chisel brush and then blend it in using circular motions. Additional layers can be added if desired. The goal is dewy, breathable, luminous looking skin, whatever your skin tone or type.
Verdict: I’ve been wearing the medium shade and feel like it’s a good match for my skin tone. However, the range doesn’t cover those with the fairest of complexions. The foundation itself feels nice and hydrating on my skin. It blends easily and is buildable. I’ve tried applying it several different ways in order to find which works best for me. I don’t have the recommended Liquid Chisel Brush and substituted with an angled kabuki brush that I had in my collection. This worked great. Only a small amount of foundation was needed to cover my entire face.
I also used the Beauty Blender sponge. This worked well when I put on several layers of skincare as well as my spf first (there is no SPF in this foundation) and didn’t want to disturb those layers. The sponge allowed me to “roll” the foundation on and blend it in. The foundation was perfect for making my skin look nice despite the rosacea flare up that I’ve been having lately. I could add another layer to the area that needed extra coverage as well.
If you’re looking for a hydrating and lightweight foundation, then this is a great option for you!

Me too! I found a home for one shade, but not the three darker shades. Hopefully soon since it’s good stuff. Stacie xo

I’ve read that water-based foundations are better than ‘cone-based ones for acne-prone skin, and there are very few of them out there. Thanks for bringing this on my radar!

That foundation looks great on on you. It gives full coverage to your face giving you a natural look. Since it utilizes phospholipids which re hydrates the skin and Vitamin E which is good for the skin, making it smooth and firmer. This is worth a try. Thanks for sharing.
