Optimistic Monday

October 22, 2012

It’s time for me to get my act together!  I feel like I am in a bit of a rut and I need to get out of it.  I am definitely a goal oriented person and (sort of) need my goals written down each week to feel like I am accomplishing something.  I will start back with just a few for this week to see how it goes…
Goals for this week:
1.  Walk 3 times.
2.  Write some thank you cards.
3.  Clean out my closet (or at least part of it)
4.  Cook dinner on 2 nights.  Preferably something new and at least a little bit exciting.
5.  Film at least 2 YouTube videos and write at least 4 blog posts.

I think these should get me headed in the right direction.

I will be attending the Online BlogCon this week.  I am really excited to do this.  It’s a blog conference that is all done online.  Sounds fun to me.  I am looking forward to learning a lot of new things about blogging and meeting lots of new people!

Have a great week everyone!

This is such a good idea – I should make a list. I need to film my first YouTube video this week! I’m kind of nervous.. I’m super awkward, but we shall see how it goes! xoxo

I think I like lists more than actually making goals.

Another incredible family reunion is in the books. Another incredible family reunion is in the books. Somehow I think it felt a little extra special this year.♥️

This was year number 46 for my husband’s annual family reunion and golf tournament in Michigan. We’re already looking forward to next year.🥰
If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few d If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few days, I’m in Michigan for our annual family reunion. And I must say, the weather here has been in the 70’s during the day which makes me not miss the heat wave back at home in Texas one bit.

Running quick errands on a hot day calls for a loose fitting dress and comfortable sneakers.

Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already reaching for rich fall colors. 🍂

#ad One of my favorite ways to transition into fall is by layering lightweight pieces from @soft_surroundings that keep me comfortable on warm afternoons but are also perfect for when the temperatures start to cool down. It’s an easy way to ease into the next season.

These warm, earthy colors feel so timeless, and each piece can be mixed and matched with other wardrobe favorites.

I love finding pieces that look polished, feel com I love finding pieces that look polished, feel comfortable, and don’t cost a fortune—and this affordable chambray midi dress checks every box.

It’s lightweight, flattering, easy to dress up or down, and perfect for everything from brunch to vacation to running errands. I truly think this is one of those wardrobe staples that works for women of all ages. Just switch up your shoes and accessories to make it your own!

And speaking of accessories, how fantastic are these jewelry pieces?! They’re from Noonday Collection, a fair-trade lifestyle brand that partners with artisans in vulnerable communities to create handcrafted jewelry and accessories. By providing these makers with dignified work, the company aims to alleviate global poverty and empower women.♥️

This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products t This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products that have been working great for my 61 year old mature skin to get a more youthful glowy appearance.

I started with an eyeshadow palette that has a variety of textures and shades in the rose family to create a million different looks. And yes, you can wear shimmers and whatever else makes you feel confident even if you’re a more mature woman.😎

You can’t go wrong any of the makeup brushes from BK Beauty to apply and blend your makeup. This eyeshadow brush is one of many that I love.

The foundation stick is new for me and I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life! It’s that good. Just swipe, blend and go. Available in so many shades that there’s one for everyone!🙌🏻

Adding depth and glow to the face couldn’t be easier with a multitasking palette of bronzer, highlighter and blush. It’s perfect for travel too.✨

The lip glow is fun because it’s a pH reactive one so it’s almost like having a custom shade that’s just for you.
