Optimistic Monday

November 19, 2012

Happy Monday Everyone!

I am back again with my Optimistic Monday post.  Despite the sad event in my life I remain a very optimistic person.  I know that we all have a limited time here therefore we need to make the most of each day.  That is what I am doing.  I am super excited to share with you the project that I’ve been working on.  That announcement will be in a few days.

Goals from last week:
1.  Buy a psychology book of some kind to help myself and my family through the grieving process ahead of us.  Any recommendations?
I purchased Grief and Grieving by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross on my Kindle for iPad after receiving several recommendations..  I just started reading it.  I also bought a copy and sent it to my dad.
2.  Walk 3 times
Yes!  Walking is both good and bad for my mind.  I sometimes think too much, more so when I walk alone.  I walked with a friend on 2 days which was great to talk to someone who knew exactly what I am going through.
11/12/12 3.31 miles, 11/15/12 2.80 miles, 11/16/12 3.18 miles
3.  Cook or bake something new.
Yes!  I baked some pretty amazing Pumpkin Pecan Biscotti (if I do say so myself).  The only problem with baking is that I love to eat these types of treat all too well.

4.  Start organizing my thoughts on  how to set something up to reach out to cancer patients and others who are ill.  I want to do some sort of system where people can make cards, send cards, etc. to those who are in need of a smile.  I will figure it out soon.

I’m excited to say that I am almost done with my brand new blog website for this.  Be sure to follow along for my debut coming any day now…
5.  Do some research on ways to improve my blog, find my tribe, etc.
Yes, I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the whole blog thing.
6.  Start to catch up on my own life.  For the past few months I lived in limbo.  I haven’t been keeping up with my friends, blogs, and videos.
I am starting to get it together.  I filmed the hardest video of all yesterday about my mom.  Now maybe I will be able to talk about the fun stuff.  To watch my UPDATE video click HERE.
7.  Work on that crazy closet of mine…  Now that it has cooled off I need to do a bit more rearranging as well as purging.  LOL!
I spent many hours this week working on my closet, my vanity drawers, the shelves in my bathroom as well as the cabinets.  I love the feeling when it is all done, just dislike the process.

One vanity cabinet in the bathroom.  Makes me realize that I need NOTHING else for a very long time!

Goals for this week:

1.  Walk and walk and walk!
With everything that I plan to eat on Thanksgiving, some extra walking is in order.
2.  Finish up my project dedicated to the memory of my mom.
3.  Continue my Fall cleaning.
I made a huge dent in it all this week. I need to keep the momentum going.
4.  Film some YouTube videos.
Those have really gone to the wayside. For obvious reasons, I needed a break. But I am ready to talk again. And boy do I have a ton to talk about.
5.  Find a new recipe for something different to include in this year’s Thanksgiving meal.
6.  Actually watch some Youtube videos.
I feel like I have been missing my sisterhood for months now!
7.  Clean up my email inbox.
I have over 24,000 emails in one of my accounts. I think it’s time to clean up. What am I saving them all for anyway?  Problems of these modern times!

Hi, Stacie. I am going to be watching for your project. I teach Kindergarten in the Northeast and my kiddos are great card makers. Their little handiwork could bring a big smile to anyones face. Rebecca

Another incredible family reunion is in the books. Another incredible family reunion is in the books. Somehow I think it felt a little extra special this year.♥️

This was year number 46 for my husband’s annual family reunion and golf tournament in Michigan. We’re already looking forward to next year.🥰
If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few d If you’re wondering where I’ve been the last few days, I’m in Michigan for our annual family reunion. And I must say, the weather here has been in the 70’s during the day which makes me not miss the heat wave back at home in Texas one bit.

Running quick errands on a hot day calls for a loose fitting dress and comfortable sneakers.

Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already Summer isn’t quite ready to leave, but I’m already reaching for rich fall colors. 🍂

#ad One of my favorite ways to transition into fall is by layering lightweight pieces from @soft_surroundings that keep me comfortable on warm afternoons but are also perfect for when the temperatures start to cool down. It’s an easy way to ease into the next season.

These warm, earthy colors feel so timeless, and each piece can be mixed and matched with other wardrobe favorites.

This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products t This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products that have been working great for my 61 year old mature skin to get a more youthful glowy appearance.

I started with an eyeshadow palette that has a variety of textures and shades in the rose family to create a million different looks. And yes, you can wear shimmers and whatever else makes you feel confident even if you’re a more mature woman.😎

You can’t go wrong any of the makeup brushes from BK Beauty to apply and blend your makeup. This eyeshadow brush is one of many that I love.

The foundation stick is new for me and I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life! It’s that good. Just swipe, blend and go. Available in so many shades that there’s one for everyone!🙌🏻

Adding depth and glow to the face couldn’t be easier with a multitasking palette of bronzer, highlighter and blush. It’s perfect for travel too.✨

The lip glow is fun because it’s a pH reactive one so it’s almost like having a custom shade that’s just for you.
