Optimistic Monday

November 19, 2012

Happy Monday Everyone!

I am back again with my Optimistic Monday post.  Despite the sad event in my life I remain a very optimistic person.  I know that we all have a limited time here therefore we need to make the most of each day.  That is what I am doing.  I am super excited to share with you the project that I’ve been working on.  That announcement will be in a few days.

Goals from last week:
1.  Buy a psychology book of some kind to help myself and my family through the grieving process ahead of us.  Any recommendations?
I purchased Grief and Grieving by Elizabeth Kubler-Ross on my Kindle for iPad after receiving several recommendations..  I just started reading it.  I also bought a copy and sent it to my dad.
2.  Walk 3 times
Yes!  Walking is both good and bad for my mind.  I sometimes think too much, more so when I walk alone.  I walked with a friend on 2 days which was great to talk to someone who knew exactly what I am going through.
11/12/12 3.31 miles, 11/15/12 2.80 miles, 11/16/12 3.18 miles
3.  Cook or bake something new.
Yes!  I baked some pretty amazing Pumpkin Pecan Biscotti (if I do say so myself).  The only problem with baking is that I love to eat these types of treat all too well.

4.  Start organizing my thoughts on  how to set something up to reach out to cancer patients and others who are ill.  I want to do some sort of system where people can make cards, send cards, etc. to those who are in need of a smile.  I will figure it out soon.

I’m excited to say that I am almost done with my brand new blog website for this.  Be sure to follow along for my debut coming any day now…
5.  Do some research on ways to improve my blog, find my tribe, etc.
Yes, I’ve been doing a lot of reading on the whole blog thing.
6.  Start to catch up on my own life.  For the past few months I lived in limbo.  I haven’t been keeping up with my friends, blogs, and videos.
I am starting to get it together.  I filmed the hardest video of all yesterday about my mom.  Now maybe I will be able to talk about the fun stuff.  To watch my UPDATE video click HERE.
7.  Work on that crazy closet of mine…  Now that it has cooled off I need to do a bit more rearranging as well as purging.  LOL!
I spent many hours this week working on my closet, my vanity drawers, the shelves in my bathroom as well as the cabinets.  I love the feeling when it is all done, just dislike the process.

One vanity cabinet in the bathroom.  Makes me realize that I need NOTHING else for a very long time!

Goals for this week:

1.  Walk and walk and walk!
With everything that I plan to eat on Thanksgiving, some extra walking is in order.
2.  Finish up my project dedicated to the memory of my mom.
3.  Continue my Fall cleaning.
I made a huge dent in it all this week. I need to keep the momentum going.
4.  Film some YouTube videos.
Those have really gone to the wayside. For obvious reasons, I needed a break. But I am ready to talk again. And boy do I have a ton to talk about.
5.  Find a new recipe for something different to include in this year’s Thanksgiving meal.
6.  Actually watch some Youtube videos.
I feel like I have been missing my sisterhood for months now!
7.  Clean up my email inbox.
I have over 24,000 emails in one of my accounts. I think it’s time to clean up. What am I saving them all for anyway?  Problems of these modern times!

Hi, Stacie. I am going to be watching for your project. I teach Kindergarten in the Northeast and my kiddos are great card makers. Their little handiwork could bring a big smile to anyones face. Rebecca

If you’re not taking a multivitamin that’s formula If you’re not taking a multivitamin that’s formulated for your age, the stage of your life and your goals, then you’re wasting your money. (ad NewChapter_Partner)

@newchapterinc fine tunes these multivitamins to help us feel our best. I’m 60, past menopause and love the fermented nutrient rich ingredients including Astaxanthin which is a powerful antioxidant (6,000x stronger than Vitamin C!) and 20 nutrients to help fill in the gaps in my diet (which isn’t always perfect).

I love that I can take them first thing in the morning on an empty stomach or with my morning protein shake before getting some work done and heading out the door.

I’ve used New Chapter multivitamins since my early 40’s and have changed the particular formula as my stage in life has changed. And I secretly hope they’re working on one for my senior years too!

Upgrade your multi now on Amazon and save up to 20%. The link is in my Bio or comment READY to receive a link for this product.

I’m closing out 2025 and ringing in the new year b I’m closing out 2025 and ringing in the new year by sharing an easy way to make your wardrobe go farther for you. Choose your pieces wisely! Get items that can be worn together but can also be paired with other items you already own.

1️⃣These pull on black pants work dressed up or down.

2️⃣ I love this gorgeous white button down because I can wear it with literally anything in my closet, from jeans to dressy. The sleeve details are beautiful and unique.

3️⃣ This bright red peplum jacket is great for layering to elevate the look. Look for that special 3rd piece that you know you’ll wear often.

4️⃣ Fabulous accessories are a must!

Here’s an easy way to help the environment. Use reusable bags when grocery shopping. These are a large size and fold flat when not in use. They’re extra sturdy for holding lots of items and they keep your groceries in place in your trunk, even when you make sharp turns. You know what I’m talking about!😅

Just keep them in your car so you always have them when you need them. Available in a few colors and patterns. 3 of these bags hold the same as 10 plastic bags.👏

Let’s all do better in the new year.🥰

If you’re looking for a simple haircare routine th If you’re looking for a simple haircare routine that helps keep your hair hydrated and healthy looking, then I’ve got you. #AussiePartner

I use the @aussiehaircare Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner Set and then follow with the 3 Minute Miracle Deep Conditioner with avocado oil. This helps to detangle my hair for easier styling.

I definitely push the limits by getting my hair colored every month to cover grays and even though I use multiple heat styling tools these products help to keep my hair soft, smooth and visibly hydrated.

It’s lightweight, smells great with a citrus and floral scent and doesn’t weigh my hair down.

Click the link in my bio to get yours and then get ready for a hair reset with lots of compliments.
