NUDESTIX for Neutral Makeup Looks

July 29, 2015

I love neutral and nude makeup looks.  It’s what I do.  I’m most comfortable looking natural.  How about you?  Do you like to use products that make applying your makeup easy?  Look no further than NUDESTIX.  These are makeup pencils that give new life to the nude makeup look.  The company was founded by sisters Ally and Taylor (you can see their gorgeous picture below) along with their mom.  They developed the line as “a simple collection of easy-to-use makeup crayons that cover all the bases and give you a fresh-faced, nude look that works for all faces, that you can apply in all places. Enriched with skin-saving vitamins, antioxidants and moisturizers, each multipurpose NUDESTIX is loaded with just enough color to go nude, but better.”

Each NUDESTIX pencil costs $24.  You can purchase them at Sephora, Urban Outfitters, Beautylish and online at QVC.   I received my first Nudestix lipstick pencil as a gift from a friend in the color Mystic and it quickly made its way to my favorites list.  It’s a great multi-tasker as it can be used on the lips and the cheeks.  I recieved a few more of the NUDESTIX recently released products as PR samples and I will tell you that they’re all right up there on my favorites list as well.

Nudestix review

Each NUDESTIX pencil comes in a matte black metal box with a mirror inside the lid.  Each box also contains product information, tips for use and a pencil sharpener.

Nudestix pencils

New releases from NUDESTIX include the Contour and Highlight Pencil, the Bronzing Pencil and the Clean-Up Pencil.

Swatches from the two pencils above. Left to right: Highlight in medium, Contour in Deep.  Bronzing pencil in Earth (matte) and Golden Sugar.

Contouring and highlighting are a popular makeup technique (thanks to Kim Kardashian).  The NUDESTIX Contour and Highlight dual ended matte cream pencil definitely gets the job done.   Draw on the areas you want contoured and the ones you want highlighted, blend and you’re good to go.  Literally!  You can take these on the go with you for touchups throughout the day.

The bronzing pencil is a nice cream to powder formula.  It is dual ended with a matte formula on one end and a luminoius formula on the other. You can swipe it on exactly where you want it then blend it out using your fingers or a brush if you prefer.  These bronzers are lightweight, waterproof and long wearing.

Nudestix clean-up pencil

The Clean-Up pencil from Nudestix

The Clean-Up Pencil is a great innovation!   Like the name implies, this pencil is used to clean up your mistakes.  You simply apply the clear pencil to your eye makeup or face makeup mistake then swipe it away with your fingers or a cotton swab.  It’s nice because there is no need to reapply your makeup.  This just takes the mistake away.

Verdict:  I’m in LOVE with NUDESTIX!  There are many more products available in the line that I can’t wait to try out soon.

So what are you waiting for?  Go check out their website Nudestix.com for more information.

I’m loving the Bae City Bag from Consuela! It’s a fun statement piece, but it’s also incredibly versatile. I especially love wearing it crossbody when I want to be hands-free.

And knowing this bag is handcrafted in Mexico with attention given to every detail makes it feel even more special. Every @ConsuelaStyle bag has so much personality and character.

If you’re already thinking about your Fall wardrobe, you definitely want to take a peek at the Consuela Fall Collection. There are SO many gorgeous bags and accessories to choose from that are fun and functional.

I’ve been using the NEW RoC Line Smoothing 2-Step Peel Pads, and I love how simple they are to use.

Step 1 gently exfoliates with a blend of glycolic, lactic, mandelic, and other exfoliating acids to remove dull, rough skin.

Step 2 follows with RoC’s patented Clinical Retinol plus Ectoin to help smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles while supporting your skin barrier. The best part? It takes just a couple of minutes and fits seamlessly into my evening skincare routine.

At 61, my skin feels noticeably smoother and looks brighter after using them, and with continued use they’re designed to improve texture, uneven tone, dullness, and the appearance of wrinkles.

At around $30 they’re an affordable way to enjoy a professional-inspired peel at home.

Are you as excited as I am about this new at-home dual-step treatment?

There’s something about a makeup collection that’s There’s something about a makeup collection that’s beautiful on the outside AND has a beautiful story behind it.

I’m playing with the Chantecaille Lion Collection for the first time today. The gorgeous shades are inspired by the strength and beauty of the lion and the colors of the African landscape.

But what I love most about Chantecaille is that their love of beauty goes beyond makeup. The brand has a long-standing commitment to wildlife conservation, and their lion initiatives supports Lion Guardians and their efforts to protect these magnificent endangered animals and preserve the communities that live alongside them.

And can we talk about these colors?! The warm, earthy tones are absolutely gorgeous for creating a soft, sophisticated makeup look — and yes, it’s a limited-edition collection but I’m already wishing these shades would stay around forever!

Would you wear this color story? Tell me in the comments.
