Nars Audacious Mascara Review

October 8, 2015

Nars audacious mascara

The new Nars Audacious mascara

Have you seen or heard of the new Nars Audacious Mascara yet?  I heard about it and decided to give it a try when I had a code at Sephora for a free tube.  I love Nars Audacious lipsticks, therefore I had high hopes for this mascara as well.  The full size mascara retails for $26 for .32 ounces.  It can be purchased at Sephora, Nordstrom and all other retailers that sell Nars products.  The formula is a very “wet” type of mascara.  The brush is a silicone type with a splayed tip on the end.

review Nars Audacious mascara

The packaging is pretty, just like all other Nars products.  The tube is a black rubberized material.

The brush is described as “an exclusive, lash-catching brush that separates, lengthens, and amplifies.”

Nars Audacious

You can see my before, during and after photos.  These photos demonstrate how the mascara applied to my eyes as well as how the mascara held up after 10 hours.

Verdict:

Pros:

  • I love the pretty packaging of this mascara.
  • The mascara was very easy to remove in the evenings.  No rubbing or tugging needed.

Cons:

  • The large brush was rather difficult for me to work with.  The brush is supposed to grab the lashes.  However, I seemed to have a hard time grabbing and separating my lashes.
  • I felt like my lashes were a bit clumpy and quite messy.
  • I had a lot of flaking with this mascara.
  • Please remember that I reviewed the sample size of this mascara rather than the full size product.  It is possible that the longer wand size of their full mascara is better and/or easier to work with.
  • At $26, this mascara is quite pricey.

Sorry Nars, but I say pass on this mascara.  There are others that are much better that will give you a lot more bang for your buck.

I think this might have been the most honest makeup review I’ve ever read lol thanks for telling it like it is! I used to buy pricey mascaras because of the quality, but now I’ve found that some drugstore brands work just as well as the high end brands.

Loved your review and honesty 🙂 I actually don’t know any NARS products, but I know they do have some good things. But for $26, this was a bit pricey for a tube of mascara.

Great review – really appreciate those images before-during-after! I was all sucked in with that packaging too and then when you wrapped it up with those helpful pros and cons – eek $26?! A little bit whoa for me – but I am always intrigued. Thanks for sharing.

I know, the packaging was pretty nice, as always with Nars. Just not worth the money in my opinion. Others may have had a different experience. I try many many mascaras and this one just didn’t do it for me. Thanks for stopping by! Stacie xo

What I used:
Universal Tinted Moisturizer: This is a lightweight tinted moisturizer with SPF 46 that gives sheer coverage and a natural glow. It nourishes and hydrates with hyaluronic acid, vitamin E, and a high concentration of niacinamide (vitamin B3). It blends out perfectly for all skin tones.

Luminous Eye Corrector: This product comes in 4 peachy shades to cancel out under eye circles and darkness. It stays all day, doesn’t crease and gives perfect coverage without looking cakey. It has mineral SPF 41 to protect that delicate skin under the eyes.

Lip Silk: Deeply hydrating lip color that’s formulated with Squalane, Meadowfoam, & Peptides to nourish and soften lips without bleeding into lip lines. Available in 2 shades Soft and Bold. It has mineral based SPF 40 to protect lips from the sun and also from blue light.

These are fantastic skincare products that make you feel good in your own skin & they’re linked in my profile!💫

I recently went to the Southlake, TX location of S I recently went to the Southlake, TX location of Skin Pharm for a little Dysport refresh with the incredible Rebekah.💖

I really appreciate her knowledge and skill, but what impresses me the most is the way she listens to my concerns about my aging skin and she does everything she can to help make me feel more confident.

She educated me on the latest products and treatments available and we decided together that Skinvive is something that I might want to try in the future. Have you heard of it? It purely for hydration and not for volume.

You can see my highlights with my previous treatments at Skin Pharm too.

Skin Pharm is a clinician-founded, female-led cosmetic dermatology practice with locations in several states including TX, GA, NC, SC and TN.

Oh, and their skincare products are amazing! You can purchase them right from their website too! I highly recommend their cleansers, the eye sculpt cream, the Youth Serum and the new Face Whip.💫

✨Right now they’re running a special where you get FREE cleanser AND Crystal Clear with any treatment through 5/30/25.✨

Book your appointment at @skinpharm asap so they can take care of you too!
