I’m a petite sized lady (only 5′ 2ish in height) and often have a hard time finding maxi dresses that fit me right off the rack. It’s easy to find dresses that need to be altered, but I prefer to make my purchases and have the ability to wear my dresses right away. Plus who wants to pay additional dollars to a seamstress? Not me!
So, once spring and summer arrive, I’m excited to pull out my sandals and maxi dresses. I’m all about combining comfort with fashion while trying to beat the heat. This year I found some great maxi dresses that fit my petite height perfectly. No alterations required!
My new favorite dress this year has been a fun strapless style maxi from a company called Trixxi. I found the first two color variations at my local Nordstrom department store. When I got home I immediately went online and found two more colors/pattern variations of the same dress. It fits great and is so comfortable. I could wear this dress every single day.
There are so many different things you can do to change up the look as well. Wear it with a big chunky statement necklace. Wear a cute jean jacket or vest over it. Wear it with heels. Wear it with sandals. Since I’m just over 5 foot 2 the dress goes all the way down to the floor for me, which is exactly the way I like it. Taller ladies could wear this same dress and it will hit just above the ankles which is closer to the way these models are wearing them.

I’m petite myself about 5′ and 125lbs. I too have a hard time finding clothes off the rack that I can take right home & wear that are flattering and don’t need alterations. Although I’m not near a Nordstrom (my little midwest town doesn’t even have an Old Navy LoL) but I will definitely be checking this out online.
