I’m a sucker for a beauty subscription box. I love the mystery of each package arriving in the mail each month. As you know, sometimes these boxes are amazing and other times they seem like a fail. My April Allure beauty box recently arrived. This is my third box from them since I started my monthly subscription. I was pretty impressed with the first two boxes. You can see the contents here and here. Let’s see how this month’s box stood up to the previous ones…
The April Allure Beauty Box
There were 7 items in this month’s Allure Beauty Box. The cost of the box is $15 per month (less if you sign up for more months and pay in advance). When you get your first month’s box, they also include some extra beauty treats, which is really nice too.
Skincare
The following skincare items were in this month’s box:
- Dr Jart Cicapair
- Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Sheet Mask
- Akar Balance Toner
- Lue’ by Jean Seo Hydrating and Calming Serum
All of the skincare products are pretty much deluxe sample size. This is a nice way to try out different products. I haven’t used any of these yet so I can’t report on their effectiveness.
Makeup
There was just one makeup product in this month’s box and it’s the Thrive Causmetics Lip Filler Lip Liner in Valisia (full size). It’s a bright pink color that’s really pretty. I like to mostly use lip liners to fill in my entire lip for more of a lip stain look. This product is also supposed to help plump, however I didn’t notice any plumping. MRSP $20
Fragrance
There’s a nice mini size of the popular Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb. It’s a pretty floral fragrance for everyday wear that I’m sure you’ve heard of.
Haircare
I enjoy trying new hair products and the Eva NYC Mane Magic 10-in-1 Primer didn’t disappoint. I use it as a thermal heat protection spray to seal my hair and make it shiny.
Verdict:
In my opinion, this box was worth the money that I paid for it. With that being said, I wasn’t overly impressed or wowed like I was the last two months. That’s the way most beauty subscription boxes work though. You can check out the Allure site for yourself. I think this would made a fantastic gift for mom’s, grads and friends who love beauty and skincare products.

I had a subscription to the Allure box for a while and while the first was awesome I was disappointed with the following boxes so I canceled. My fav box is still Boxycharm.

I totally understand that. I liked my first 2 boxes a lot. This one was just okay. I think someone who doesn’t hoard skincare the way that we do would really like these products to try out. I get Boxy Charm too and love almost every month. I’m going to see what you got in yours this month. Stacie xo
