Maybelline Color Jolt Lip Paint Review

July 12, 2016

Have you tried the new Maybelline Color Jolt Intense Lip Paint yet?  When I saw these at my local Walgreen’s I knew I had to buy one to see how they compare to the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks.  The packaging looked similar to me so I had to decide if these were drugstore gems or not.  I decided to go with a nice nude neutral shade for my first purchase and review.

The Color Jolt Lip Paints retail for $9.99 each at drugstores , Ulta, etc nationwide.  They’re available in 8 shades plus 2 gloss colors.  Their labeling boasts 8x more pigments for a jolt of color.   Sounds promising, right?!

Maybelline Color Jolt

Left to Right: Stripped Down, Never Bare, Fight Me Fuchsia, Orange Outburst, Talk Back Red, Red-dy or Not, Berry Naughty, Violet Rebel, Shine Shot Clear Gloss and Shine Shot Prismatic Topcoat.

Most of the colors available are quite bold.  Even the two lighter colors give a nice amount of color payoff due to the concentration of pigments.  There’s a clear gloss color for those that like to add some extra shine.  There’s also a unique prismatic top coat to give your existing lip color a multi-dimensional type finish.

Each lip paint features a flocked tip precision applicator

The applicator is nice for easy to apply lip color.  I can get the product applied exactly where I want it without any effort at all.

Maybelline Lip Studio

I’ve been wearing the Stripped Down lip paint nearly every day lately

Verdict:  I highly recommend the new Maybelline Color Jolt Lip Paint drug store gems.  They’re very comfortable on the lips and give me hours of wear time without ever drying out my lips.  They’re readily available at drug stores and Ulta.  The cost is under $10.  They’re very comparable to the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks, which cost at least twice the price.  I’d even consider some of the colors to be a dupe.  They’re a winner in my book!

You can check out the available Maybelline Color Jolt Lip Paints below (affiliate links).  I’d love to know if you’ve tried these and what you think of them!

*I purchased this product with my own money.  All opinions are mine and are not influenced by anyone else.

I’ve been intrigued by all the new products coming out but haven’t generally bought because I never know if they are glosses or some of those dry things that just coat the lips and flake off.

I’m now able to get the “gold standard” benefits recommended by dermatologists with this gentler formula to help smooth fine lines and wrinkles, fade dark spots and improve texture.
