Hi everyone, my name is Amy Coose, and I am thrilled to be contributing to the Makeup Obsessed Mom’s blog! Of course I am also a Makeup Obsessed Mom, and I am so excited to help all you fabulous readers out in your quest to be the best you can be, inside and out. I am a transplanted Texan who currently resides in Northern Virginia with my hubby of 22 years, my two teenagers, my 5 year old and our pup. My 16 year old daughter is also obsessed with makeup, so she will be assisting me in posting reviews, photos and tutorials.
Now that I’ve introduced myself I’d like to let you know a few of my current favorite things.
First up, let’s talk cleansers. I have been using the CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and I really love it! I feel like it really gets my face clean without the dryness I get when I use a foaming cleanser.
I was blessed with bags under my eyes, which have always bothered me. I finally found a product that does help with the puffiness, it’s Origins No Puffery Cooling Roll-on.
I could not, and would not live without my Clarisonic Mia Fit. I had the older Mia 2 for almost 5 years before it conked out on me. When I went to replace it, I had planned on picking up the same one, but the salesperson talked me into the Mia Fit and I’m so glad she did. It really does fit the face better, and I feel like it gets my face even cleaner than the older version.
I am still searching for the perfect foundation, but I do have one I’m currently using that I really like. I have, ahem, maturing skin, so I really needed something with good coverage that wouldn’t settle in to pores and wrinkles. For me, Make Up For Ever Ultra HD was a good match. It’s not heavy, doesn’t leave me oily, and pretty much stays where I apply it. I’ve even been wearing it in the heat and so far so good!
If I had to pick on physical trait that I liked about myself, I’d have to say my eyes. I always make sure to curl my eyelashes (Tweezerman Eyelash Curler for me), and apply a good coat of mascara. I’ve tried a lot of mascaras, but Maybelline New York Volum’ Express the Rocket Waterproof mascara works perfectly on my lashes. It holds the curl and doesn’t clump. I love it! My daughter also swears by this mascara as well.

I have super dry skin, so the CeraVe really gets my skin clean, but leaves it hydrated!
Nice to “emeet” you Amy. I love your choices. I have the original Clarisonic which is telling me it needs a replacement so I’ll consider the Mia.

Amy, every mascara I use leaves me with raccoon eyes. I’ve used primers and powder underneath. Help!!
Hi Stephanie, I feel your pain! I had the hardest time finding a mascara that worked until I tried waterproof mascaras. It does take a little more time to wash off at night, but I don’t have the issues of running, or flaking during the day. Hope that helps!
Hi Amy- I forgot about that mascara. I am going to have to pick one up. Also that Origins eye roll on looks like something I could use. I have noticed that lately I have puffy undereyes when I wake up in the morning. Looking forward to getting to know you better- welcome!
I love my Origins Eye roller, it feels so good and I feel like it does help with my horrid eye bags, LOL!!
I’m going to have to try that Origins out…my bags have their own zip code lately. Lol. You’re lucky to have that common interest with your teenage daughter. Mine has no interest at all in makeup. She is into skincare so I guess I’ll take what I can get 🙂
