Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation Review

I can’t resist Make Up For Ever products…  I was at The Make Up Show in Dallas this past weekend and picked up a few of the new Artist Rouge Lipsticks as well as the Water Foundation.  I’ve worn the foundation for the past two days and thought I’d do a first impressions review for you.  The Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation retails for $43 for 1.7 ounces of product.  It’s available in 20 different shades.

Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation

The foundation is packaged in a frosted glass bottle with a pump dispenser.  This foundation is a revamped, modern formula of the original and iconic Make Up For Ever Face + Body Liquid Makeup Foundation.  It’s enriched with pro-vitamin B5. The Water Blend Face & Body Foundation hydrates and improves your skin’s elasticity.

What the website says:

Give skin a fresh, dewy glow with this unrivaled formula that feels so lightweight, sheer and comfortable. The quick and easy application makes it ideal for face & body, as the water-based waterproof foundation evens out the complexion to leave a natural-looking, satin finish. Created with 80% water, this long-lasting unique water-gel texture naturally hydrates and blends in evenly for a smooth, flawless look.

I was color matched to the shade Y405 – Golden Honey.  I wasn’t sure how to apply it best so I started with my wet It Cosmetics sponge.  I felt like the foundation completely disappeared and didn’t make any difference on my face at all.  I may need to try it with a dry sponge instead.  I ended up using it with a foundation brush.  This was perfect.  I put on 2 layers of the foundation to get my desired amount of coverage, which is light.  I could have continued to add layers if I wanted more coverage.

The foundation is very thin and liquidy.  It doesn’t take much effort to blend it into the skin.

Verdict:  The Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation will be a definite “go to” product for me.  The coverage is beautiful and very natural looking.  I love that it’s buildable.  It can be worn sheer to medium by adding layers.  It’s very lightweight.  I don’t feel like there’s anything on my face.  It works very well on my aging mature over 50 skin.  I didn’t try it as a body foundation because that is not something I wear.

Make Up For Ever Water Blend Foundation is a star in my book!  Have you tried it yet?

I prefer water-based foundations on my oily, acne-prone skin. This has blended so perfectly on you – definitely second skin!

I love lightweight, light coverage, hydrating foundations and this one sounds great. I’d love to get samples of this to try out, before I commit to a purchase. MUFE is hard for me to find a shade match. 🙂

I LOVE this foundation! I add a bit of their stick foundation when I need a bit more coverage and they work really nicely together.
