I have always loved bright-colored lipstick but never felt comfortable wearing it. I’d put on a bright red or hot pink fuchsia lipstick and immediately rub it off. I’ve recently learned how to wear bright lipstick and how to feel comfortable wearing it. For the purpose of this post I’ve chosen a lipstick from Red Apple Lipstick in the color Reddy or Not. Any bright or dark lipstick from your collection should work just fine for applying with this method
To apply my lipstick and get a stain like effect I dab the lipstick from the tube directly on to my lips. I then use my fingers to press the lipstick into my lips. This gives my lips a touch of bright color rather than screaming “I am wearing bright red lipstick today.” The lipstick looks more sheer with this method. You can do this with any color and texture of lipstick. This is the perfect way to wear a bright lipstick and stay in your comfort zone. I like this for daytime makeup looks.
When I’m ready to let my hair down, so to speak, I go full-on with my bright lipstick application. I apply it directly to my lips and often add more than one layer. I personally prefer to save bright lipstick for evenings and special occasions.
Do you wear bright lipstick? What’s your preferred method to apply it?

My grandmother used to say that a woman wasn’t fully dressed unless she had on her lipstick!

Lipstick is so fun. I have to make sure my lips aren’t chapped to wear it properly, though.

I agree! Don’t waste your lipstick if you haven’t prepped your lips! Thanks for stopping by! Stacie xo

I usually shy away from it, but lately I have been using it- my favorite is a shade from NYX right now.
