Get Your Halo On for Spring

March 2, 2018

What do you think about glowing skin? Until a few years ago I had no idea what highlighters were. I don’t think these types of products really existed until more recent years. Wet n Wild Beauty recently released their MegaGlo Hello Halo liquid highlighter. I’m a fan of liquid products because I don’t like adding too much in the way of powder products to my dry skin. I’d rather use liquid or cream cheek products. I think they work better for mature skin.

Wet and Wild Hello Halo review

The line of Hello Halo liquid highlighters are available at all of your neighborhood drugstores and big box retailers that carry the brand. These retail for $5.99 each.  They’re available in 7 different shades. I picked up just this one called Halo – Goodbye because it’s the one that I know I’ll get the most use from.

These are the 7 shades available. Picture is from the Wet n Wild website.

This is how the new highlighters are described on the Wet n Wild website:

Intense is the name of the game with this buildable liquid highlighter that delivers a multi-shimmer glow thanks to its shimmering pearl pigments. The hydrating formula is infused with powerhouses like Murumuru Seed Butter, Grapeseed Oil, and Vitamin E to help smooth out the skin’s texture.

The product comes with a doe foot type applicator. I have mixed feelings about this. It’s kind of fun to use. I simply dot the product where I want it and then pat it into my skin. The part that I don’t love is that the applicator touches my skin and I then put it back inside the bottle. This can be a breeding ground for bacteria. Because the product is inexpensive I can give it a pass. However, the product should probably be tossed and replaced after about six months because of this.

I like to wear my highlighter on the top part of my cheek bones for a pretty glow.

Verdict:

I highly recommend this highlighter if you like to add a little glow to your face. It’s an amazing price. It’s readily available. It stays glowy looking on my skin rather than fading away like some powder highlighters tend to do. This product is one where you can get away with the drugstore brand rather than spending a lot on the luxury brands. I will probably pick up another shade next time I’m at the drugstore.

Have you tried these MegaGlo Hello Halo liquid highlighters? If so, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below.

I have one of the WnW megaflop sticks, and I love it. I am so tempted by these because I love creams and this looks so easy to apply. But I have so many highlighters already, I may have to pass though it is difficult.

I like to shout from the rooftops when I find good I like to shout from the rooftops when I find good beauty products that work well for my mature skin in hopes that others will discover them too.

Be sure to let me know if there’s anything you’ve been loving lately too.💖

Today I’m including:
•a body makeup product that helps cover, disguise and blur my dark spots from sun damage from too many years spent in the sun.

•an at-home FDA cleared fractional laser to improve the appearance of my skin and even help get rid of some of those dark spots. I’m using it nightly.

•a beautiful pink lipstick that is like happiness in a tube

•an excellent facial spf product that protects my skin when I’m outdoors. I purchased mine when I was in France.

•some tasty gummy supplements I’ve been using including a multivitamin and a gummy prebiotic and probiotic combo to keep my gut happy

•and a balm that works great for keeping my skin hydrated that I like to dab under my eyes and on the lines above my lips because hydration helps make fine lines look better/less obvious when I look in the mirror.

I’ve been using the Olay Micro-Sculpting Cream, and I love how hydrated, smooth and refreshed my skin looks and feels. Our skin changes as we age and keeping it moisturized with effective ingredients is one of the simplest ways I keep mine looking firmer, smoother, healthier and more radiant at 61 years old.

The @olay Micro-Sculpting Cream has triple collagen peptides, niacinamide and pro-vitamin B5 to support younger looking skin.

If you’re looking for dramatic results without taking drastic measures, then this is a moisturizer you will be impressed with. It layers beautifully under makeup and delivers lasting hydration.
