Is making healthy food choices on your list of resolutions this year? It’s been on mine for the past 30 years or so. LOL! I admit that I make a promise to myself every single year that I will eat healthier and that I will exercise more. I’ve actually started off 2018 with a bang. I started back on Weight Watchers to lose the few extra pounds that I gained. I also started back to walking almost daily.
I admit that I like to eat. I’m a big snacker and a huge fan of carbs and desserts. In order to eat foods that I like I need to be more conscious of what I put in my mouth. I prefer the Weight Watchers method of eating to achieve my goals. It’s worked for me for the past 15 years or so. I always go back to it when I fall off the wagon and need to get myself back on track.
I’ve started an Instagram account to share some of my food finds. Through this account I hope to help and inspire others to make better food choices. You don’t have to be on Weight Watchers to benefit from the information that I share. The account will be used to help each other achieve our own personal goals. I’d love to have you follow along. Here’s my weight loss Instagram account if you’re interested in that sort of stuff :wwsmarteating.
One of the recipes that I shared this past week was an instant hit in my house so I thought I’d share it here. This recipe is known as the “2 Ingredient Dough” (not my personal recipe) because it’s literally 2 ingredients. You use 1 cup of self rising flour and 1 cup of nonfat original flavor Greek yogurt. I heard that the Fage brand gave a good flavor to the end product so that is what I used.
You knead to two ingredients together for about 3-4 minutes. If you want to make pretzels, pretzel bites or bagels you will divide the dough into 4 sections. Put a bit of flour on the surface you will be working on. Roll each section into a log shape. Then twist into the shape you want or cut into bite size pieces. I brushed the top with an egg wash and then sprinkled on some of the Trader Joes Everything Bagel Seasoning. You can use whatever you prefer (salt or toasted sesame seeds are other favorites of mine). Bake on parchment paper or foil at 375 for 20 minutes. Enjoy warmed or cooled with your favorite toppings. I personally just eat them right from the oven.
I baked mine in my new Smart Toaster Oven*. This appliance is great! I’m in LOVE with it. It’s been perfect to use when I don’t want to heat up my big wall oven.
You can use this same dough for many different recipes. Use for pizza crust, calzone, pizza pockets and more. Let me know in the comments if you’ve made this recipe before. Be sure to stop by my Instagram and follow along on my healthy food journey.

A 2-ingredient dough? That sounds so easy! I’ll have to try that. Especially knowing how much butter goes into classic dough recipes…
One of my healthy food choices is pretty simple: I eat at home most of the time. We never do takeout and only eat out once to twice a week. We make everything at home from scratch. I doesn’t have to be complicated, a simple veggie soup or salad will do! But we use so much less fat and sugars than restaurant cooks do.

I agree, staying home and cooking from scratch is the best so that you know exactly what goes into the foods you’re eating. Great suggestion! Stacie xo

These sound so easy and look so yummy for a mid-morning (or anytime) snack! Healthy eating – and portion control – is my 2018 resolution, though I admit I especially struggle while travelling.

This is a delicious snack for sure! I struggle during travel as well. For me it helps to pack my snacks and bring them with me. Stacie xo

I’m a lazy cook so 2 ingredients would be great for me. I’m guessing they are low in fat with just these two products.
