I am so excited for the Makeup Show Dallas!! It will be here in just a few days (September 23-24, 2017). This is the must-attend event for all makeup professionals. I’ve been to the show for the past few years and look forward to it each time. You can read a recap of last year’s show HERE. Also search my sidebar for previous years’ shows. The show kicks off for the press with a blogger preview. This year’s preview will kick off with a Fall Makeup Trends report by James Vincent. I’ve already received a release of these trends and wanted to share them with you now.
METALLIC
Too much metal for one hand. Unapologetic mined metals with hints of black and smoke, gorgeous tones of gold and copper for a sheer, golden look and metallic glitters on the lid like gold leading were all over the runway for fall 2017. Danessa Myricks Metals and Enlight Powders, Kevyn Aucoin The Loose Shimmer and Stila Glitter and Glow are the perfect products to let you keep the look natural or add more drama.
BLACK LINER
Artistic black liner was all over the runway in traditional and unexpected shapes. MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua XL Color Paint and Ink Liners allow anyone to be a Picasso with their makeup. For a more traditional liner look try Crown Brush liquid liner. At less than $5 you can’t go wrong with this pro favorite for cat eyes or a more museum ready liner look.
BERRY LIPS
Berry lips are not a bold or unexpected choice for fall trend. This is a classic that comes back every season. With a wide array of berry shades in any texture your choices are unlimited. Smashbox has an amazing amount of berry lip product in lipsticks and stains for any skin tone and you will not be disappointed in their lipsticks or liquid lips.
POPS OF COLOR
On both the eye and lip bold swatches of color in all shapes and depths delivered a gorgeous attention grabbing makeup look. If you want to make impact with your own makeup try Cozettes new shadows or Danessa Myricks Color Fix for some unlimited options. Mehron makeup has the most beautiful palettes at an easy price point if you want to experiment with colors you do not keep in your makeup kit. Try a softer shadow brush to sweep color across the lid for a more wearable look or add in a bold bright liner for a little bit of fun that won’t be too crazy.
THINK PINK
Pink is the perfect shade for any cheek but this soft shade has made its way into lashes, lids, cheeks and lips this season. Senna Cosmetics Slip Cover Blush allows an effortless hint of pink in both brights and naturals and the cream to powder formula makes it easy to apply. MAC Cosmetics offers some of the most iconic pink shades for any skin tone in their brilliant lip ranges and have endless options in lipstick lip gloss or even their Lip Mix kit which allow you to create magazine worthy makeup.
VAMPY LIPS
The deep burgundy brown and blackened berry lip has been a fashion favorite for years. NYX Cosmetics and Charlotte Tilbury give you the IT Girl glamour at different price points so any person can be the vampy siren they have always wanted to be. Try Temptu Lipsticks or Pat McGraths series lipstick in MCMENAMY for some rich deep options that will have you looking and feeling like a super model.
The show is also the place to be to see the unveiling of the Artist Color Collection from Make Up For Ever. The Artistic Color Collection marks the first reformulation of the brand’s artistic range, a longtime backstage and on set staple for the industry’s top makeup artists. They’ll be providing a unique opportunity for hands-on experience with the new products. MAKE UP FOR EVER is debuting Color Ink, Color Air Brush, Color Stick, Color Cream, Color White, Hair Touch, Body Tan, and Air Brush Thinner.
As always, the show is filled with educational opportunities and a beauty shopping extravaganza from about 200 top brands. Brian Champagne will be taking the main stage this year as Keynote Speaker. In addition, there are opportunities to learn from some of the best in the field such as James Vincent, Renny Vasquez, Same Fine, Danessa Myricks and more.
Advance tickets are available online at discounted pricing until Thursday, September 21st at midnight. Tickets are available at the door as well. If you’re not in Dallas you should check the website to see if they’ll be in your area soon.

This is an event that I’d love to be able to attend. I’ve been to IMATS a few times but never The Makeup Show which I understand is better. Have a wonderful time.
