I probably have some of the thickest hair most people have ever seen. This comes from my mother’s side of the family. My natural hair is pretty wavy, almost curly. I’m trying so hard to embrace it. However, I really do prefer to wear it straight. I’ve been trying out a new product from Aveda that’s supposed to progressively loosen up curls (or in my case waves) every time you style your hair. After using the Aveda Smooth Infusion Naturally Straight styling product just five consecutive times, your hair should stay straight for up to 3 washes. Sounds good to me!!
The technical stuff from their site:
As you straighten your hair, Aveda Smooth Infusion™ Naturally Straight’s naturally derived plant fibers invisibly attach to hair to loosen curl and help lock in straightness. The formula’s humidity barrier of organic cassava extract and maize defends against frizz. The more you use it, the easier it is to create straight, smooth styles, so you can spend less time with a blow dryer and flat iron every day. It is safe for relaxed and color treated hair. After five consecutive applications of Naturally Straight, hair will stay straight for up to three washes.

I recommend this product if you have wavy or curly hair and currently spend a lot of time trying to get a smooth straight style. This product will cut your styling time down leaving more time for the things you enjoy the most in life, like shopping or hanging out at your local coffee house perhaps.

Hi Stacie. Do you think it made it easier to straighten? How long did it take you to do your blowout? I have similar hair but mine is a little curlier. What about the 2nd time you used it? Was it even easier? Thanks!
Stacie says
It doesn’t make it easier to blow my hair out. It just makes it look better (nice and smooth) and stays that way for many days. I’m hoping that it lives up to it’s advertising of keeping hair straight through several washes/blowouts after 5 consecutive uses. I’ll keep you updated! Stacie xo

Thanks Stacie! I would love to know. I actually have the product and have used it and let my hair air dry curly. Nice results with that. But I don’t want to invest the time in doing the 5 consecutive uses/blowout to find out that it doesn’t work 🙂

You have the most beautiful hair! Mine is very fine and used to be very thick, but it has thinned quite a bit as I’ve gotten older. I’m envious of your hair!

Thanks so much! I think we all want the hair we don’t have. I’ve always wished mine was thinner and straight. Have a fabulous weekend! Stacie xo
