I never in a million years could have imagined even half of the accomplishments, experiences, accolades and more that happened for me in 2018. I’ve always tried to live my best life, but talk about A Year to Remember!! I’ve never been one to brag about things that happen for me. I don’t want to rub people the wrong way and seem like I’m boasting. I just like to think that I’m sharing my accomplishments that I worked hard to achieve. I love to see other people’s triumphs and I’m the first one to support them and cheer them on. What’s your opinion on this topic?
I also started the year with my first ever vision board. I put together a board with pictures and words that I envisioned for myself. I worked hard on goals that were most important to me. Other things just fell into place on their own. And several items were not achieved. I will keep those for the next year if they’re still fitting for me and ditch the rest.
Some of my 2018 accomplishments that I’m most proud of:
Brand partnerships
I was fortunate to work with some incredible brands in 2018. I formed some fantastic partnerships with brands that I love. As most of you know by now, having my picture in the December issue of Oprah Magazine was quite the way to end the year. My ad for Clarisonic was quite the incredible experience. I got to work with one of my all time favorite skin care brands in one of my all time favorite magazines. How could it possibly get better than that?
I got to attend the Oprah’s Favorite Things event in NYC in November (that was a dream come true as well!). I met many of the other OMagInsiders and formed some special friendships.
Some of the incredible brands that I worked with in 2018 Pixi Beauty, Target, Best Buy, bareMinerals, DermaE, Skinkick, NYDJ, Silkn’, Revive Light Therapy, Osmosis Pur Medical Skincare and many more. I’m very grateful for the opportunities and hope to expand my list of partnerships in the future.
My Blog
I’ve been working hard on my blog all year long and am proud of how far I’ve come through the years. I changed my blog design to something that is simple, pretty and straightforward. I’m proud to say that I customized a template all by myself to get it exactly how I want it to look. Let me know what you think of the redesign.
Friendships
Friendships have become even more important to me than in the past. I’ve found some of my soul sisters this past year. These are the people who I know I can turn to for celebrating the ups and the downs in life with me.
I’ve realized that the people who aren’t happy for me when good things happen really aren’t my “friends.” They don’t support me the way that I’ve supported them through the years and celebrated their achievements. Therefore, I shall reevaluate those friendships. It’s sad, but they make me feel bad about myself and I don’t really have time for that.
Alaska Cruise
I was fortunate to be able to travel with The Oprah Magazine and Holland America Line on a cruise to Alaska. My husband I had always wanted to go on cruise to Alaska as we’d heard about how amazing the experience is. All I can say is, put this on your bucket list! Alaska is a gorgeous place and was so good for my soul.
In addition, the Oprah Magazine activities on board were nothing short of spectacular. The OMagInsiders and I got to take part in some of the activities, such as the beauty segments. We attended so many fun presentations too and got to meet the incredible editors and staff of the magazine. I even participated in some interesting and different meditation sessions.
My Daughter’s Wedding
One of my daughters got married in December of 2018. We spent the entire year planning the wedding. I really thought it was a lot of fun to plan. It wasn’t too stressful for us since we took the entire year to get it together. The end result was nothing short of amazing! It was one of the most magical days of our lives.
Travel
If you know me then you know that I have a fear of flying. In 2018 I decided to have a new attitude about travel. I even had my fear addressed by a pilot in an issue of Oprah Magazine. I think I’ve been pretty successful at shifting my thoughts. Now I get excited when my husband tells me about a destination that he booked, rather than immediately going into panic mode (even when the trip is months away). I’ve even brought up trips I’d like to take that are destinations that require air travel.
Aside from our regular family vacations, we also traveled to a few destinations in 2018 including Alaska (on the cruise), Grand Cayman, Cabo and NYC (twice).

So many fantastic accomplishments Stacie! So very happy for you! Some things that you said in this post really resonated with me. A lot of people will tell you to pay attention to who doesn’t clap for you, but I believe it’s more important to NOT give that any attention at all. My motto is to give your attention to those who do and make sure you’re encouraging them too! Thanks for being a source of encouragement for me! Congrats on a magical year!
