What a Week

August 21, 2014

Wow!  What a week it’s been!  It’s only Thursday morning and my week has already been so full.  Monday I had my dermatology appointment for an annual skin check.  I have a lot of freckles and moles on my body and get them checked at least once a year for skin cancer.  My mom passed away in November of 2012 from melanoma which is the deadliest form of skin cancer.  I worshipped the sun as a young adult which did a lot of damage to my skin.  Now I’m all about good skin care and sunscreen.

Tuesday was my dental check up.  My dentist recently moved to a brand new office.  It’s like going to a spa to get your teeth cleaned.  They even have flat screen televisions on the ceiling to distract you while you’re reclined in the chair.

Wednesday was my annual physical with my general practitioner.  They always do blood work and give me a flu shot while I’m there.  I actually got in and out in under an hour this year.  I think I’ll remember to make the first appointment following the lunch hour more frequently.

I recently saw this at a store. I think I need to go back and buy it!

I’ve also had a lot going on with our new house.  We’ve been working toward closing on the new house on Friday, which is tomorrow!!  Yikes!  I don’t necessarily think that’s going to happen.  Yesterday was the inspection.  There are just a few minor things that need to be fixed on the house.  In the meantime, I’ve been cleaning out closets and packing.  We have SO MUCH STUFF!

In the meantime, my husband and son have been traveling for golf tournaments for the past two weeks so they haven’t been around to help.  My daughter leaves today for an event at her college.  The other daughter needs to come pack up her room.  Everyone starts school on Monday so after this weekend there will be nobody around to tell me what to do with their stuff.

My dad is still in the hospital.  I think it’s been almost a month now for this visit.  What started as a short 2-3 day stay has turned almost into a nightmare.   That’s obviously stressing me out as well.  I haven’t been walking and getting my exercise either.  I know that I should but it’s been so hot outside and the mall is out of the way right now.

I’m SO ready for the new normal of my life, whatever that may be.  Now that I’ve finished my venting I feel so much better!!  I hope everyone is enjoying their last days or weeks of summer!!  Thanks for listening!!

As a 61 year old woman who gets to try so many new As a 61 year old woman who gets to try so many new beauty and skincare products, these are some of my favorites over the last few weeks of the summer that I would repurchase again and only 1 fail.

As a matter of fact, I already repurchased the vitamins and prebiotics and probiotics supplement. I didn’t know Kourtney Kardashian was the owner of that brand. I only had 1 fail this time which was the terrible tasting creatine gummies. I don’t like stevia, but if you do then you may like with them.

Accessories are a great way to add a personal touc Accessories are a great way to add a personal touch to our outfits. Both of these fun necklaces are from Alex and Ani, a brand that most of us are familiar with. They’re great on their own and are perfect for layered looks too.

Do you love adding jewelry as the finishing touch to your outfits?
