Sunday with Stacie – Volume 8

May 5, 2024

Hi Friends! I know I’m late in getting my weekly series blog post up here. I usually try to get it posted first thing every Sunday morning, but I was so tired from my flight to California yesterday that I simply didn’t have the strength to get it written. When I fly in a plane I feel very claustrophobic and have to take medicine to take the edge off. The medication always makes me tired, so I was pretty useless to get anything done last night. And then there’s the good ole time difference that gets me on the first day of a trip going west. Anyway, here I am, so let’s get this show on the road…

Here are the things I’m choosing to talk about this week, which are totally random but are on the top of my mind.

Organizing my personal space

I accomplished a lot of organization in my home this week. I went through some of my jewelry drawers and got rid of earrings that were missing their mate, tossed some fashion jewelry that I knew I will never wear (and don’t even where it came from), and put together a donation pile. I used these fantastic jewelry organizers. I can stack them in the drawer or put the lid on them and keep them on top of my dresser. I’m just thrilled that now I can easily find what I’m looking for. I love that accomplished feeling! I often laugh at myself because for at least a week after I’ve organized a room, a drawer, etc, I can’t stop admiring my work.

San Francisco

Let’s talk about San Francisco for a minute. Have you been? I’ve been many time because we used to own a second home in Pebble Beach and would come out to California a few times a year. However, I haven’t been to San Francisco (except for the airport) in probably 10 years or more. I had heard that it changed a lot since the pandemic. To be honest, everything that I’ve seen so far on this trip has been mostly really nice. We’re staying at a hotel right on Union Square by the historic Macy’s location (I can see it from the window). Today we went to the San Francisco Botanical Gardens and the Japanese Gardens. As we drove in the Uber I took in all of the scenery. Yes, there are a few pockets of sad homeless people sleeping on the streets, but for the most part, it is still so beautiful to see the city. The homes and their architecture are so beautiful to me.

A woman wearing sunglasses, a black blazer, and jeans stands smiling before a picturesque japanese garden with a red structure in the background. she is carrying a shoulder bag and wearing white shoes.

Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is next week and ever since my mother passed away in 2012 I’m on an emotional roller coaster as the holiday approaches. I miss my mom so much and am so sad that she’s not here to see my kids grown up or to meet her great grand babies. She would be so proud. When the kids do something amazing I can just imagine the joy my mom would have felt. It’s really weird, but I sometimes look at my own hands helping my grand babies and feel like I’m seeing my mother’s hands instead. Whew, that just got me by saying that out loud. 🙁

This year, I decided to have an early Mother’s day celebration with my daughters. I ordered a cheese and charcuterie board from Boarderie (they have THE BEST premade boards) and we spent an afternoon out on the patio just enjoying each other’s company. If you’ve never seen their boards, you must check them out. They’re made with the most delicious, fresh artisan ingredients from all over the world. You can order up to 365 days in advance and have a board shipped anywhere overnight in the USA for free. I’ve worked with the brand, but I do love everything about their delicious boards. Everyone is always impressed when they receive one. You can check them out here.

That’s it for this week’s edition of Sunday with Stacie. I’m going to enjoy the rest of my time in San Francisco before heading to Napa later this week. I can’t wait to share more of my trip with you. If you have any tips for the area for non-wine drinkers, let me know! Have a great week!

At 61 years old, I’ve never been able to consisten At 61 years old, I’ve never been able to consistently use a retinol product until now because I couldn’t handle the dry, irritated skin that I experienced when using them. #OlayPartner

@olay has this new Retinol 24 Starter that’s intentionally made for beginners and/or people with sensitive skin like me. I’m now able to get the “gold standard” benefits recommended by dermatologists with this gentler formula to help smooth fine lines and wrinkles, fade dark spots and improve texture.

It’s formulated with Pro-Retinol, Triple Collagen Peptide and Aloe Vera to reveal the smoother, brighter skin that’s been unreachable until now.

And if you’re a long-time user of retinol products, they have several stronger formulas that you can check out too.

New users and those of us with sensitive skin can conveniently purchase this gentler formula at our favorite retailers or online. Give it a try. I think you’ll be as impressed as I am.

Tell me in the comments the number one goal you want to achieve for your skin.

GRWM with clean beauty products — because looking GRWM with clean beauty products — because looking your best at any age isn’t about looking younger. It’s about looking like the best version of you.

At 61, I’m all about makeup that enhances my features, works well with mature skin, and still lets me look like me. I don’t want to hide behind my makeup, and I don’t think any of us need to. With the right products and techniques, makeup can simply bring out what’s already there.

I used all clean beauty makeup products to create a fresh, natural, polished look that feels good without feeling overdone.

If you’re a woman over 50—or 40, 60, or 70—and you’re looking for clean beauty, natural makeup for mature skin, makeup tips for mature skin, anti-aging makeup techniques, or natural-looking makeup that enhances instead of covers, this one is for you. ✨

Beauty doesn’t have an expiration date. Everyone deserves to feel comfortable and confident.💕

Save this GRWM for your next makeup day and tell me: do you prefer a natural makeup look or something a little more glam?

As a 61 year old woman who gets to try so many new As a 61 year old woman who gets to try so many new beauty and skincare products, these are some of my favorites over the last few weeks of the summer that I would repurchase again and only 1 fail.

As a matter of fact, I already repurchased the vitamins and prebiotics and probiotics supplement. I didn’t know Kourtney Kardashian was the owner of that brand. I only had 1 fail this time which was the terrible tasting creatine gummies. I don’t like stevia, but if you do then you may like with them.

Thanks for being here! Don’t forget to like, comment, *repost, save and/or share this post to help my content get seen by a wider community. I appreciate your support so much and you never know who else might be looking for the very thing I’m sharing today. And don’t forget to let me know if you want the LINKS!
