Long wearing lip color? I’m all over that one. As you may recall lip stains and long wearing lip colors are a bit of an obsession for me. So when my YouTube friends started talking about this new lip product from Sephora called the Sephora Luster Matte Long Wear Lip Color (what a long name), I had to run out and get a few to try for myself. These retail for $16 each for .14 ounces and are available in 12 different shades.
Marketing for these lip colors includes:
- modern matte lip color with a lustrous sheen
- custom contoured tip precisely paints on saturated color
- feather light formula nourishes with rose hip seed oil
I swatched like crazy and still had a hard time choosing which ones to purchase.
I purchased bottom row second from left (Mulberry) and fourth from the left (Fig).
As you can see, I swatched nearly every single color available. I ended up choosing two different ones. My typical mauve pink color and a brighter fun color. For the purpose of this review we’ll talk about the mauve pink one that I purchased in the color Fig Luster.
It is marketed as a long wear liquid lip color.
One of my picks – Fig Luster
Outdoor natural lighting
My Opinion:
The product has a wow factor as far as pigmentation
It is easy to apply with the nice flexible sponge tip applicator
It’s very lightweight and comfortable to wear
Only lasted an hour or so in this color, so not long-wearing at all
I have a feeling that some of the deeper colors, such as the Mulberry that I purchased may last longer. I’ll have to let you know how that one works in a future post. Have you tried any of these yet? If so, what color did you try and what did you think?
*I paid for all products shown in this review with my own money.

We must have similar tastes in lipstick as those are the shades I picked up as well. Mulberry is definitely more long lasting. I got at least 7 hours of wear from it. With Fig, I got 2-3 hours before I could no longer feel it on. Fig is so close to my natural lip color that it was hard to see once it started fading, but I could still feel it on my lips even after the gloss blended in with my natural coloring.

Oh, I was looking forward to trying these, sad to hear they don’t seem to be long lasting, I think I’ll give the Ulta brand ones a go first. TFS.

I still love my Fig one though. I just have to reapply more often than others. Let me know what you think of the Ulta ones if you try those. Stacie xo
