Life

Optimistic Monday

August 5, 2012

Is it really Monday again?  My how the time has flown this week!  My oldest daughter goes back to college next Sunday.  My other daughter starts back to cheer today and then her private school starts next week.  For some reason the public schools start  late this year so my son gets a few extra weeks of summer.
Goals from last week:

1. First day home get to the grocery store for necessities of our family of 5.
I had no choice but to get to the store fast after this trip.  We had nothing to eat or drink in the house.  If you live with teenagers, then you know how important a stocked pantry and refrigerator is.  I went to Super Target and spent almost $300.  I never do that!  Ouch!
2. Unpack and get things put away rather than sitting in suitcases for days.
Yes, I did it!  If it weren’t for this list I might have let the suitcase go untouched for a few days.  But I knew I would have to answer to others.  LOL!

3. Walk 3-4 times this week, 3-4 miles each.
Despite to 100 plus degree days here in Texas I was able to get my walks in.  I just went out early in the morning and tried to walk mostly in the shade.
7/31/12 3 miles, 8/2/12 3 miles, 8/4/12 3.23 miles

4. Take some pictures after reviewing lessons from photography class.
Well, rather than take pictures I researched a little and bought a new camera.  I ordered it online and should get it next week.  I am so excited that I just can’t stand it!  It is my DSLR camera.  It is a Canon EOS Rebel T3.  I got an extra lens with it too, not that I would know what to do with it.  It will be fun to learn how to use this camera applying what I already learned in the photography class I took.

5. Make a little video montage of our trip.
I am still working on this.  I still have to upload the pictures from my camera.  Who knows, maybe I will achieve this one before this post goes live on Monday?

6. Continue to appreciate each and every day!
You know I do!  I am thankful for the blessings of each and every day!

Goals for this week:
1.  Walk 4 times this week.
I am hoping to wake up before it gets scorching hot outside.

2.  Bake something new and from scratch.
Don’t you just LOVE Pinterest for new recipes?

3.  Cook dinner 2-3 times.
Some of you might scratch your heads at this one.  We are hardly ever home to eat as a family during the summer months.  I try…

4.  Minimum of 3 blog post this week.
This should be easy since I am trying to prepare posts ahead of time and balance my time.

5.  Minimum of filming 2 Youtube videos this week.

6.  Learn something new about the functions of my new camera that should arrive any day now.
I PROMISE to post a few pictures next Monday!

7.  Take some extra time this week to appreciate the people in my life.

Very old picture of the family, but the only one I could find fast on this computer!

Have a GREAT week everyone!!  Anybody else setting goals?

Love reading your goals! I write mine down in my planner. As for the suitcase, I have to unpack as soon as I get home or it will drive me nuts and sit there for a week, lol. I love my DSLR. I have a Nikon. I need to use my bigger lense more though. Pinterest makes me SO hungry! xo

This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products t This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products that have been working great for my 61 year old mature skin to get a more youthful glowy appearance.

Comment for the LINKS.💗

I started with an eyeshadow palette that has a variety of textures and shades in the rose family to create a million different looks. And yes, you can wear shimmers and whatever else makes you feel confident even if you’re a more mature woman.😎

You can’t go wrong any of the makeup brushes from BK Beauty to apply and blend your makeup. This eyeshadow brush is one of many that I love.

The foundation stick is new for me and I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life! It’s that good. Just swipe, blend and go. Available in so many shades that there’s one for everyone!🙌🏻

Adding depth and glow to the face couldn’t be easier with a multitasking palette of bronzer, highlighter and blush. It’s perfect for travel too.✨

The lip glow is fun because it’s a pH reactive one so it’s almost like having a custom shade that’s just for you.
I’m kinda giddy over here because I get to use thi I’m kinda giddy over here because I get to use this beautiful Louis Vuitton handbag for a month. I borrowed it from Vivrelle and their membership service. They have hundreds or maybe even thousands of luxury designer bags to choose from.

Comment CODE for the link and my discount code that gets you 50% off your first two months.

It’s a great way to try beautiful bags without committing to a single bag. I’m having so much fun with this membership!👜

Thank you @vivrelle for the gift of this membership!
I’ve always been obsessed with pizza. I’ve attempt I’ve always been obsessed with pizza. I’ve attempted to make it at home many times and had too many failures to count. But not any more thanks to @pocobero and their delivery of NY-style pizza dough balls shipped straight to my door.

I had my kids and grandchildren over for swimming and make-your-own-pizzas this weekend. It was a total success. The flavor of the pizza crust was absolutely delicious. It tasted as good as being in a NYC pizzeria.

I see many more pizzas in my future.😎

I put all the veggies on my pizza. What are your favorite toppings?🍕🫑🍄‍🟫🧅

Thank you Poco Bero for the amazing gift!♥️

Question… do you want to see the duds too?

Today I shared jewelry from @analuisany that I have pretty much worn every single day for the last month. It lives up to its claims. I’m wearing a beautiful nude colored plumping tinted lip oil and silky lip liner from @purcosmetics and I love them too. They’re great everyday shades.
