Optimistic Monday

January 7, 2013

Happy Monday Everyone!
Things are starting to get back to normal just a bit around our household.  One child is back in school.  The next starts back tomorrow.  And the third is leaving for a mission trip to London with her college dance team.  Funny place to be going to do mission work, huh?  My other daughter went to Peru for her mission work, so when we heard London for this trip, it sort of surprised us.  I’m sure there are people all over the world who could benefit from these services.  I can’t wait to hear all about her journey.  I hope it’s a great experience for her.

My Goals for last week:
1.  Write my Christmas thank you cards.
I did get a few of these done.
2.  WALK – I don’t even recall the last time I really exercised.
Yes!  Walked 3 times last week.  I even started it out on New Year’s Day!
1/1/13 3.44 miles, 1/3/13 3 miles, 1/4/13 3 miles
3.  Set up doctor’s appointments since it’s a new year and time for checkups.
I tried to do this…  Set it up online and then the back and forth emails led to me not getting an appointment after all since the times were all taken by the time the nurse got back to me.  I guess everyone wants to get in the first of the year.
4.  Take down the Christmas decorations asap.  With our travel schedule we did not take them down before our trip.  My goal is to get it done on New Year’s day.
Yes, all decorations and the tree are put away for next year.  The house looks so bare without all of the bling everywhere.  I miss it!

My Goals for this week:
1.  Bake the Cherry Almond Biscotti recipe that I found on Pinterest.
2.  Walk 4 times this week.
3.  Make the returns to stores that need to be done.
I’m so bad at this!  I get too lazy and usually avoid making returns.  Sad, but true.
4.  Read.
I’ve purchased a few books in the past few months and haven’t really been able to stay focused long enough to get anywhere.  I’m going to try this week.
5.  Mail out a few packages.
6.  Work on my blog.

Did you set any goals for yourself this week?
Tell me about them below in the comments section.

Have a GREAT week!

I love finding pieces that look polished, feel com I love finding pieces that look polished, feel comfortable, and don’t cost a fortune—and this affordable chambray midi dress checks every box.

It’s lightweight, flattering, easy to dress up or down, and perfect for everything from brunch to vacation to running errands. I truly think this is one of those wardrobe staples that works for women of all ages. Just switch up your shoes and accessories to make it your own!

And speaking of accessories, how fantastic are these jewelry pieces?! They’re from Noonday Collection, a fair-trade lifestyle brand that partners with artisans in vulnerable communities to create handcrafted jewelry and accessories. By providing these makers with dignified work, the company aims to alleviate global poverty and empower women.♥️

The beautiful bag is borrowed from Vivrelle. I have a discount code if you want it. And the shoes are possibly the comfiest ones I own.

This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products t This week’s Friday finds are all beauty products that have been working great for my 61 year old mature skin to get a more youthful glowy appearance.

Comment for the LINKS.💗

I started with an eyeshadow palette that has a variety of textures and shades in the rose family to create a million different looks. And yes, you can wear shimmers and whatever else makes you feel confident even if you’re a more mature woman.😎

You can’t go wrong any of the makeup brushes from BK Beauty to apply and blend your makeup. This eyeshadow brush is one of many that I love.

The foundation stick is new for me and I’m wondering where it’s been my whole life! It’s that good. Just swipe, blend and go. Available in so many shades that there’s one for everyone!🙌🏻

Adding depth and glow to the face couldn’t be easier with a multitasking palette of bronzer, highlighter and blush. It’s perfect for travel too.✨

The lip glow is fun because it’s a pH reactive one so it’s almost like having a custom shade that’s just for you.
I’m kinda giddy over here because I get to use thi I’m kinda giddy over here because I get to use this beautiful Louis Vuitton handbag for a month. I borrowed it from Vivrelle and their membership service. They have hundreds or maybe even thousands of luxury designer bags to choose from.

Comment CODE for the link and my discount code that gets you 50% off your first two months.

It’s a great way to try beautiful bags without committing to a single bag. I’m having so much fun with this membership!👜

Thank you @vivrelle for the gift of this membership!
I’ve always been obsessed with pizza. I’ve attempt I’ve always been obsessed with pizza. I’ve attempted to make it at home many times and had too many failures to count. But not any more thanks to @pocobero and their delivery of NY-style pizza dough balls shipped straight to my door.

I had my kids and grandchildren over for swimming and make-your-own-pizzas this weekend. It was a total success. The flavor of the pizza crust was absolutely delicious. It tasted as good as being in a NYC pizzeria.

I see many more pizzas in my future.😎

I put all the veggies on my pizza. What are your favorite toppings?🍕🫑🍄‍🟫🧅

Thank you Poco Bero for the amazing gift!♥️

Question… do you want to see the duds too?

Today I shared jewelry from @analuisany that I have pretty much worn every single day for the last month. It lives up to its claims. I’m wearing a beautiful nude colored plumping tinted lip oil and silky lip liner from @purcosmetics and I love them too. They’re great everyday shades.
