Optimistic Monday

January 28, 2013

Hi Everyone!

For those of you that are new to my blog, I try to post my goals for the week every Monday.  Then I come back the next week and let you know how I did on each goal.  It just helps me to stay a little bit more accountable to the things that I say I’m going to do.  I’d love to have you add your blog’s link below and grab a button from my sidebar.  Link up your goals or another optimistic post.

My goals for last week:

1.  Finish cleaning out my closet once and for all
I’m getting there!  I think I’ve developed a little bit of ADD over the past few months and seem to have a hard time completing big projects like this one.

2.  Register for the AIM at Melanoma walk that will take place in Dallas on May 4, 2013.
I signed up for the walk.  My sponsor link is coming soon.
3.  Walk 4 times.
I only walked 3 times this week.  The bursitis that I had in my hips a few months ago seems to be be back.  Luckily It’s only affecting just one hip.  I thought that resting it for a few days might help so I haven’t walked since Thursday.  I’m hoping that this won’t end up being a long term problem.
4.  Film 2 YouTube videos this week.
Yes, I was able to No, I didn’t squeeze in a second video on Sunday like I planned to do.  Sorry about that.  I just couldn’t get the entire thing together.

5.  Do some pilates to firm and tone a few areas that need some help since I will have to put my swimsuit on in less than 2 months on spring break.
I’ve been doing several different pilates exercises trying to firm and tone a bit.

My goals for this week:

1. Continue walking (as long as my hip cooperates) and doing pilates.
2.  Work on my blog.
3.  Bake something low in fat and calories.
4.  Lunches with girlfriends.
5.  Finish off the closet.
6.  Maybe list a few items for sale after cleaning out my closet.  I have some nice things that I’m considering selling on ebay or another site.
7.  Film and post 2 YouTube videos.
I have so much to share!

What are you doing this week?

Link up below if you want to share your goals or a positive post.
I’d love to have you!

Good luck on your goals! For some reason, every time I organize my closet, I get it done but after doing another batch of laundry, it will turn into a huge mess again!

I love getting a box of clothes delivered straight I love getting a box of clothes delivered straight to my door that were curated by my personal stylist.

This is what I received in my recent Wantable Style Edit. I kept 4 out of 9 pieces this time, including exchanging one top for a larger size.

There’s no commitment, just a very affordable style fee and so many different themes to choose from. Comment for my LINK which gets you $25 off your first box.

I’m loving the Bae City Bag from Consuela! It’s a fun statement piece, but it’s also incredibly versatile. I especially love wearing it crossbody when I want to be hands-free.

And knowing this bag is handcrafted in Mexico with attention given to every detail makes it feel even more special. Every @ConsuelaStyle bag has so much personality and character.

If you’re already thinking about your Fall wardrobe, you definitely want to take a peek at the Consuela Fall Collection. There are SO many gorgeous bags and accessories to choose from that are fun and functional.

Go check out the collection and tell me which bag is your favorite!

If you’ve been looking for an easy way to level up If you’ve been looking for an easy way to level up your skincare routine, this is it! #roc_partner

I’ve been using the NEW RoC Line Smoothing 2-Step Peel Pads, and I love how simple they are to use.

Step 1 gently exfoliates with a blend of glycolic, lactic, mandelic, and other exfoliating acids to remove dull, rough skin.

Step 2 follows with RoC’s patented Clinical Retinol plus Ectoin to help smooth the look of fine lines and wrinkles while supporting your skin barrier. The best part? It takes just a couple of minutes and fits seamlessly into my evening skincare routine.

At 61, my skin feels noticeably smoother and looks brighter after using them, and with continued use they’re designed to improve texture, uneven tone, dullness, and the appearance of wrinkles.

At around $30 they’re an affordable way to enjoy a professional-inspired peel at home.

Are you as excited as I am about this new at-home dual-step treatment?

There’s something about a makeup collection that’s There’s something about a makeup collection that’s beautiful on the outside AND has a beautiful story behind it.

I’m playing with the Chantecaille Lion Collection for the first time today. The gorgeous shades are inspired by the strength and beauty of the lion and the colors of the African landscape.

But what I love most about Chantecaille is that their love of beauty goes beyond makeup. The brand has a long-standing commitment to wildlife conservation, and their lion initiatives supports Lion Guardians and their efforts to protect these magnificent endangered animals and preserve the communities that live alongside them.

And can we talk about these colors?! The warm, earthy tones are absolutely gorgeous for creating a soft, sophisticated makeup look — and yes, it’s a limited-edition collection but I’m already wishing these shades would stay around forever!

Would you wear this color story? Tell me in the comments.
