My Life…

June 14, 2012

I decided to add this section to my blog so that I have a place to write about the events in my life that mean so much to me. I think it will also be a great place to vent and express my feelings so that I am not keeping things bottled up inside.

I suppose the best place to start here is to tell what I am currently going through. I am at a really tough place in my life in that I am facing the reality that my parents might not live much longer. My mom has been battling melanoma for nearly 3 years now. Her cancer has spread despite several different treatments. My dad has had many different illnesses over the years including kidney failure, a broken hip and heart disease. He undergoes kidney dialysis three days a week. You always know that these days will come, but when the reality of it all sets in, it is heartbreaking.

Remember to show your loved ones how much they mean to you every single day!!

Aw, Stacie, I’m so sorry you are going through this. I think about your Mom often. I know I’ve also been thinking of my Parents and In-Laws more now that they are older. Just treasure each day. Thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Thank you for sharing? I often look at me parents and wonder if I can stop time. I know what my mom saw with her own parents and it worries me. I can’t imagine my life without them. I talk to them almost everyday but I will be calling shortly. Thinking about you and your family and sending our prayers your way.

I’m sorry Stacie. I think its the point we are at in our lives. I was talking to my husband and son about this after we lost my MIL in March. We have had so much going on in our family the past year. I think we have reached the point in life that this in what we’ll be dealing with. Doesn’t make it any easier. Your family will be in my thoughts!

I am so sorry to hear that. I truly can’t imagine having to deal with both of your parents being ill at the same time. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

    xoxo

I’ve recently taken several makeup classes and one I’ve recently taken several makeup classes and one of the common lessons is that dewy or glowy makeup is better for mature skin. I agree completely because I feel like it blurs my 61 year old wrinkles a little bit and makes my skin look hydrated and healthy.

The maxi dress has a raw hem so it’s super easy to cut without having to get it hemmed. That worked out perfectly for me and my petite 5’1” height. I cut 3 inches off the bottom of the dress and now it fits me exactly how I like it. I love the color too!

I’m loving the back of the dress so I thought I’d share it in a video when we were walking back from the restaurant after dinner. The restaurant is called Hacienda and it’s by the marina in Cabo. We’ve been going there for years. This trip we went there for brunch too and it was excellent! Highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you’re ever in Cabo.
