It’s definitely wonderful when you’re able to find good makeup and beauty products at the drugstore. As we all know, drugstore makeup has stepped up it’s game in recent years. I recently spotted some gorgeous colored lip products from Maybelline at Walgreen’s. I purchased one color to try out before indulging into the entire line, like I usually do. Today I’ll be reviewing the Maybelline Colorblur in the color I Like to Mauve It.

The Maybelline Colorblur is available in 10 shades
The lip pencil is the twist up type. It’s described as a vivid cream matte pencil with a blurring smudger. The pencil is a nice width, not too thin, for easy accuracy when applying. I purchased mine for $8.99, but you can almost always get good deals, coupons and discounts at the drugstore.

Verdict: The Maybelline Colorblur is a really nice lip product. It goes on smooth and feels soft and velvety on my lips. It’s very lightweight. In fact I don’t really feel the product on my lips at all. It has a decent wear time of several hours, even through eating and drinking. I imagine the darker colors last even longer. I honestly don’t think the rubber smudger is necessary. I rub my lips together after application which is adequate for smudging. I recommend this lip product and will probably pick up another color or two.

I haven’t heard of these yet! I love the size of the pencil, just like you said, not too thin. I love the Revlon Just Bitten Balm Stains but they are too thick. This is juuuuuust right. I’ll keep an eye out next time I’m at the drugstore.
That’s a really pretty color on you! Wouldn’t you love to be the person that gets to name all of these lip colors? Haha they are so clever/cute.
Very pretty looking shade and lineup! Mattes aren’t my favorite so I’ll be passing on these, but I love the shade selection and the look of the pencil itself. I agree about the blur part – why is it necessary?

The drugstore always has great lip products! I agree the smudger is a little gimmicky, but the shade and formula sound great!
By the name alone, I originally thought it was a primer or something. The lip pencils look nice, though! It looks like it could double as a lip liner, which is nice.

I totally agree with your review — the lip product itself is lovely and feels amazing, but the smudger seemed totally unnecessary. So weird! Who wants to smudge away the beautiful, vivid colors?? 🙂
I just FINALLY bought a couple of these a while ago and I love love loooove them!
