For the past few months I’ve been using a product from Jillian Wright Skincare. For a little background information, Jillian Wright has been a clinical aesthetician for over two decades. The Jillian Wright Clinical Skin Spa is located near Madison Avenue in Manhattan. The following information is taken from the website so you can get an idea of the philosophy of this skincare line:
We believe in sustainable development through green chemistry (Chiral) as well as formulating with environmentally, secure, organic and natural “of the earth ingredients. Doing so, allows us to create a comprehensive collection of products that help improve the overall health of your skin. Our philosophy and standard of practice allows us to provide the highest quality products with no fillers, toxic ingredients, or colorants.
The product that I tried is called the Breakout Blocker Acne Serum. The product was sent to me for review. I was immediately interested in this product for several reasons. What stood out to me the most was that this product fights acne and is an anti-aging serum at the same time. I believe that’s a hard combination to come by. Most acne medicines that are on the market are made with young teens in mind. This product is non medicated and non drying.
As a woman who can sometimes have problematic skin (including rosacea and breakouts), I like to find products that are made for my age group and that understand the needs of aging skin. This product is paraben-free, fragrance free, and gluten-free. It’s designed for many skin types including problematic, oily, normal and acne prone. This serum has natural ingredients, which gives it a nice botanical type of scent.
The box is so cute too! It’s made from recycled materials and has wildflower seeds in it so you can plant the box in some soil and start a garden. Kinda fun, huh?! All of the packaging is actually environmentally responsible.
So, what did I think of the product? This product was a good one for my skin. Thankfully I don’t have breakouts daily. However I get some rosacea and acne breakouts from time to time. During these times I’ve applied the Breakout Blocker Serum both morning and evening after washing my face. The serum has a nice thin consistency that absorbs into the skin quickly. I applied moisturizer, sunscreen and/or my foundation over the serum. My makeup applied smoothly and evenly over the serum. I would recommend this product if you’re looking for a natural product that is non drying. In addition, it contains other skin enhancing ingredients that are supposed to brighten the skin. That’s always a bonus to me when a product is multi-tasking. I plan to try more products from this line in the future. Take a look at the Jillian Wright Skincare website and see if they carry something that might work for your skin.
