January Beauty Box 5

How about a reveal of the January Beauty Box 5?!  Let me quickly explain this beauty subscription box program to you, just in case you haven’t read my previous posts or seen my YouTube videos on this topic.  The Beauty Box 5 is a monthly box containing 5-6 beauty product samples.  Sometimes there are full size products in the box.   The cost is $12 per month if you pay this month to month.  The price goes down if you sign up for a package deal.  The box can cost as little as $8.25 per month.  The whole idea behind this subscription is to introduce women to new beauty products.  The contents of this month’s box are below.

Sally Hansen Salon Effects nail polish strips (full size) in a fun red and black stripe.  I’m more of an accent nail type of girl.  I think a single nail or two would be cute with this pattern.  Retail $19.99  for 16 nail polish strips.

Softsoap Nutri Serums Vitamin E Body Wash (deluxe sample) – a nice fresh scented body wash that’s great to pack when traveling.  Full size retails for $8.00 for 15 ounces.

Garnier Fructis Daily Care Fortifying Shampoo (deluxe sample) – A fresh scented shampoo that’s supposed to strengthen your hair.  Again, great size for travel.  Full size retails for $3.99 for 13 ounces.

Coastal Scents Eye Shadow Sampler Palette – Yikes!  I thought this look like a paint palette for kids when I opened the box.  Other people received much more “calm” shades in their boxes.  Maybe I’m supposed to take a walk on the wild side and try these bright colors?  Retail for Coastal Scents products is $1.95 – $24.95.

Ultraflesh The Gold Standard Mascara in Blackout (sample size) – A nice size sample of mascara that’s supposed to provide dramatic thicker lashes.  This is a very nice mascara.  Full size retails for $21 for .27 ounces.

This month’s box wasn’t the most exciting to me.  I already have so many soap and shampoo samples that I don’t really need any more.  The eyeshadow mini palette was not my style either.  Therefore, this month’s box was a fail for me.  Let me know if you subscribe to Beauty Box 5 and what you think of it.
