I recently posted about an at-home, do it yourself permanent hair removal system here on my blog. I’ve been using the product for about 2 months now and wanted to do an update for you on how the device is working for me. You can read my original post HERE.
The device is called the Flash&Go from a company called Silk’n. It is what I call my light treatment gun, where all you do is 1. pull a trigger and 2. wait to see what happens. The directions call for treating an area of unwanted hair anywhere on the body (including most areas on the face) every two weeks for the first four weeks, followed with monthly maintenance treatments.
I chose to start with my underarm area as the first place to experiment with. I used the device as directed. Here I am two months into treatment and all I can say is WOW! This thing really works! I am so impressed. My underarm hair is nearly gone. For real! I can’t say that the hair is completely gone yet, but it comes in at an extra slow pace so far. I have confidence that it will be gone for good with continued treatments. I will update again in a few months.
For a device that costs $199, it is so much more cost-effective than med spa or doctor’s office laser hair removal treatments. I had no pain, discomfort or adverse affects from the treatments. I used it on the highest setting from the start, mostly because that’s how I do things. Go big or go home…
The device comes with a light that is good for 5000 light pulses. You then replace it with a refill lamp cartridge. You can purchase the Flash&Go at Kohl’s stores or online. They also sell the refills there. Have you had laser hair removal or tried a device like this one at home? If so, what did you think?

That sounds incredible, Stacie! I think sounds great for my face (altho it seems a little scary to try on my face) instead of my Emjoi Epilator. When I have some extra cash, I may give it a try. Ebates works at Kohl’s plus I noticed that this brand is at Sephora too so maybe next coupon event!

I know, I was so surprised that a flash of light could be effective at stopping hair growth. Next stop for me is going to be the legs. Yes, coupons are great for high ticket items like this, along with ebates. Let me know if you purchase one of these in the future. Stacie xo

I will have to look into this because this is a much cheaper option than A) Going to the medical spa or B) The Tria!!! I am all for cheaper options that work!!
Stacie says
I know, med spas are expensive and I believe it can be a painful process there. I don’t know about the Tria, but this is nice because the light pulse area is a pretty good size. Stacie xo

This is so cool! I’d love to try something like this one day. It’d be so great to not have to deal with shaving!
Stacie says
I agree! Shaving is such a pain. I started with the small underarm area and plan to try the legs next. I’ll do more updates in the future. Stacie xo

So great to hear about an at home device that works! As soon as I’m able to use products like this again, I’m going to look into it. I’m so tired of shaving my under arms!
Stacie says
This was so nice and easy to use. I’m tired of shaving too and the under arms are a good small spot to start with. Stacie xo

I LOVE how these devices work. I got a Philips Lumea recently and it has eradicated my underarm hair in four uses. Now to get started on the legs.
Stacie says
That’s great to hear that you found a device that works well too. How much is that one? I’m going for the legs next too! Stacie xo

I’m glad to see this is working so well for you! I’m kind of intrigued by epilating and the idea of eventually having less hair grow in, but it’s a shame that these don’t work well for blondes! I wonder why that is.

Yes, you’re right. They are not for light hair. I think the light doesn’t pick up the color of the hair. Hopefully they’ll come up with something new in the future. Stacie xo
