I don’t know what is with me, but I often crave good fresh guacamole. We have tons of Tex Mex restaurants here in Texas that offer fresh table side guacamole. It’s good, but one of my favorites is actually from Chipotle. I decided to try to make some fresh guacamole at home. I went on YouTube and watched a few videos so that I’d know what ingredients to buy at the grocery store. It was so easy to make that I actually made it again the next night. However I changed up my recipe by adding and deleting ingredients.
The beauty of guacamole is that there’s no right or wrong way to make it. You can add or delete ingredients that your taste buds prefer. Below is a basic recipe that I saw on Youtube. I don’t like things very spicy so I eliminated all hot peppers. Basically, you just mash the avocado then mix in all other ingredients.

Add other ingredients to the bowl |
Squeeze in lime juice to preserve the color and freshness |
First batch of guacamole |
Second night’s batch of guacamole |

Yum! We love guacamole! I’ve never put corn in mine, but I love corn salsa, so I will totally be giving it a try 🙂 Last week I posted about one of my Christmas gifts, and you totally need to check it out! It’s a 3-in-1 avocado tool by OXO, and it has made my guac making so much faster and cleaner!!

I could probably eat guacamole every day. I’ve never put corn in mine, but my daughter (2 years old) is obsessed with corn and it might be a good way to get her to eat it! Happy SITS day
