I’m always on the hunt for the best lip balm to help my lips stay hydrated year round. I think my lips may suffer a little bit extra because I enjoy matte lipsticks and lip stains and wear them often. They have a reputation of drying out the lips. I recently purchased the new Charlotte Tilbury Magic Lip Balm. I’m willing to pay any price for a product that promises to hydrate. This was a bit expensive at $35 for .17 ounces. I purchased mine online. It can be purchased at most fine retailers that sell Charlotte Tilbury products.
The product is described as follows:
The key ingredient is Propolis – a resinous elixir created by honeybees to protect the lining of the beehive with magical healing powers. It can be used to treat ailments from sore throats to cold sores, and to boost the immune system.
This is combined with natural wonders and youth-boosting actives, including:
• Hyaluronic acid, which fills out lines for plumper, fuller lips.
• Vitamin E, a free radical-fighting antioxidant.
• Argan oil, which boasts intense moisturisation and healing properties.
• A triple blend of jojoba seed oil, olive oil and helianthus seed oil to moisturise and seal the skin from external aggressors.
• Shea butter, one of the richest and most nourishing emollients around.
• Beeswax to naturally condition the lips.
It heals and soothes to leave your pout looking dewy and youthful. The hi-tech formula fuses powerful propolis – an elixir created by honeybees to protect the lining of the hive – with natural oils, shea butter and beeswax for baby-soft, plumped-up lips.
What did I think: All of the above literature had me hooked before I even received the product in the mail. After using the product daily I have mixed feeling on this lip balm so far. Firstly, I do not like the packaging. Yes, it’s quite pretty. However, I don’t like lip products that you have to dip your finger into for application. It’s not sanitary, etc. Also, it can get under the fingernails when scooping it out of the pot which is just gross. I do like the way this product feels on my lips. It does provide nice hydration to the lips. I’m hoping that long term use will make magical things happen. Lastly, I can’t get past the scent of this product. It smells terrible to me. It’s too fragrant in a botanical way for me. Given the price of the product and all of the negatives I will probably not purchase the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Lip Balm again. I really tried so hard to like this one!!

I really like the packaging on this though. I have the Lip and Cheek dual thing, and the packaging is sooo pretty- reminds me of the lid for this. I am all about the luxe lip balms!

The packaging is definitely pretty. I love luxe lip balms too. Have you tried the La Mer one? The scent is much better to me. Thanks for stopping by! Stacie xo

I am really impressed by the ingredients in this product and the fact it softens and plumps lips. I also would prefer if it wasn’t a lip product you have to stick your finger in, do they have another option, like a tube?
