Are you looking for a new foundation to try that will make your skin look great? We all know that when we look good, we feel good about ourselves. Every year, I love to share which foundations I’ve been using and my recent discoveries on the top foundations for mature skin. I learned that makeup artists like liquid foundations because they function as a second skin and adhere to the “less is more” concept. However, I do have a favorite powder product in my list too that’s a longtime favorite. Below are the top foundations for mature skin (some are hand-picked from experienced makeup artists). The majority of these products are infused with moisture-boosting ingredients and are excellent for enhancing mature skin’s natural appearance.
You can see some of my previous picks for best foundations for mature skin in 2020 here on my blog => This is one of my all time most popular posts.
Longtime Foundation Favorites
Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place – This may be the foundation for you if you need or prefer complete coverage. It holds up well in the summer heat. With a pea-sized dollop, I get excellent coverage that lasts till evening. It has a very light and skin-like feel. I can wear the product all day, and it still looks great in the evening without any touch-ups. I wear the shade Fresco.
IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation – Bye Bye Foundation clings to every kind of moisturizer I use underneath like a champ. It sheers out and provides complete coverage. It remains on all day without fading or moving, even if I go to the gym at night. This foundation is excellent for anybody with dry skin which needs medium to full coverage but can’t stand the dryness of other foundations. I’ve bought it many times in the shade medium neutral.
It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better – I’ve been a longtime fan of the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Foundation, so I was excited to try the Your Skin But Better Foundation. This product is technically a foundation-skincare hybrid since it has moisturizing elements like hyaluronic acid and aloe vera extract. It dried fast and didn’t seem like I was wearing layers upon layers of makeup. I can picture myself using this for various occasions, like weddings. I got shade Neutral 42.
It Cosmetics CC+ Cream – This CC cream is a full-coverage foundation, anti-aging serum, and mineral sunscreen all rolled into one. This foundation is fantastic. It’s easy to apply and doesn’t feel heavy. It conceals some of my tiny wrinkles and fine lines. The moisturizing qualities are lovely, and the additional SPF 50 is a great bonus! I use the shade Light Medium.
Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Liquid – For a few years, I’m always on the hunt for a new foundation. This foundation is excellent. The color is faint, but I mix it down my neck, and it looks well. It has a modest coverage yet provides a beautiful natural glow. It gives the coverage I need without seeming cakey or mask-like. This foundation is lovely, and I will continue to use it.
Lancome UV Expert Mineral CC Cream – This cream is beautiful! It offers excellent coverage without being oily or cakey, and it helps me conceal my imperfections. Lancome cosmetics are one of my favorites since they are affordable and give just the perfect amount of coverage. I always use the shade 02.
Laura Geller Balance and Brighten – This is my favorite powder product for mature skin. It’s so easy to use by swirling the brush into the product and buffing it into the skin for an even appearance. Even though it’s a powder product it doesn’t settle into lines and wrinkles.
New Picks Added for 2021
Estée Lauder Double Wear Sheer – Double Wear Sheer is a lightweight, fresh-feeling matte makeup that lasts all day. My skin appears so natural, not heavy or greasy when wearing this. The packaging is also stunning; I appreciate that it isn’t a glass bottle but yet looks classy. The sheer/light coverage soothes any flaws such as uneven skin tone, redness, breakouts, and shine without feeling heavy for the ultimate no-makeup makeup look. It has a smooth matte finish that doesn’t crease and lasts all day. Fresco is an excellent color match for my light medium skin tone.
Wander Beauty Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation – Makeup professionals claim that Wander Beauty’s Nude Illusion Liquid Foundation has a skin-like finish suitable for any skin tone. The doe-foot applicator is simple to apply for individuals of all skill levels. It contains soothing Centella Asiatica and niacinamide that help decrease redness and conceal hyperpigmentation.
Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation – The Giorgio Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Foundation has received many praises from beauty professionals and cosmetics users. Because of its weightless texture and soft-focus finish, this foundation is a favorite among mature women. The moisturizing formula is excellent for those who want to keep their makeup simple.
Sephora Best Skin Ever Liquid Foundation – If spending more than $50 on a bottle of foundation is out of the question, Sephora Collection’s Best Skin Ever Foundation is a good alternative. The light-to-medium-coverage product plays up to its aspirational “Best Skin Ever” moniker, plus it’s competitively priced and available in a broad 50-shade spectrum. It has three all-star moisturizing ingredients: hyaluronic acid, glycerin, and squalane, which attract water to the skin and maintain a healthy barrier, much like your favorite moisturizers. The result is a naturally dewy complexion devoid of noticeable wrinkles and texture.
Make Up For Ever Reboot Foundation – The Makeup For Ever Reboot Foundation plumps skin, making it ideal for dry skin types. This lightweight liquid foundation is filled with moisture-attracting glycerin and ginseng to promote natural collagen synthesis under its radiant, satin finish. I’m ready to wager that the serum-like formula won’t even have you feel like you’re wearing makeup at all.
Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Foundation – This foundation is touted as “next-generation” with “smoothing, pore-blurring, and airbrush effects.” It is infused with skincare components to moisturize, protect, and improve the appearance of your skin for a poreless, beautiful effect. It is sweat-proof, waterproof, and stain-proof! It contains Replexium, Charlotte’s magic serum, which helps to reduce the appearance of wrinkles by up to 22% after eight weeks of usage. I love that its makeup and skincare in one product.
