Do you try to keep up with the latest trends in beauty and fashion? I used to follow both, but have slipped away from being slightly obsessed with trying them all out every season. It’s just too much to try to keep up. Also, I just do “me” and what makes me happy and feel good nowadays. I’ve heard about some current beauty trends recently and thought that I’d share my opinion on these. I’d love to hear what you think of them as well, so be sure to leave a comment on this post for me.

Powdered Lip Products
I jumped on this one months ago when I saw these products popping up in stores. I have found some beautiful options from several lines. The lip powder is easy to apply and it’s great for accurate placement along the lip borders. Unfortunately these don’t last as long as I’d really want them to and need to be reapplied (darker colors last longer). So many brands are jumping on the powder lip product train including NYX, Buxom and Lorac, to name a few. MAC has a newer lip powder lipstick that I just ordered online that I can’t wait to try too. This is a “trend” that I will definitely continue to follow because I like the way these lip products look and feel on my lips.
Face Rollers
Have you seen these skin rollers yet? I have two different types myself. I purchased one of the jade rollers when I saw them being talked about a lot by beauty influencers. The history goes back to ancient beauty regimens where the jade roller was used to reduce fine lines and wrinkles while toning and contouring. The cooling effect of the natural stone also helps reduce puffiness and tightens pores. These rollers boost blood circulation, reduce swelling, and help your skincare products penetrate deeper.
I recently received one the Gua Sha tools along with a neck firming cream from Dr Brandt. The tool is supposed to help make the skin look firmer by encouraging lymphatic drainage, stimulating collagen and helping to firm the skin through the use of this massage tool. There are also ice rollers and massaging rollers that help with depuffing and firming.
Microneedling Tools
These tools aren’t new to beauty, however there has been a bit of an explosion in the use of them so I’d call it a current trend. I purchased one a few years back after having a series of micropen procedures done at my aesthetician’s office. I figured that since they tout the procedure as being good for collagen production, wouldn’t it be great to be able to do it at home as part of my skincare routine. This makes it very cost-effective because the rollers are pretty inexpensive. Like everything else, the key is consistent use. In addition, using good sterilizing techniques are important too.
Glowing Skin
Even if you don’t have naturally glowing skin, it’s easy to fake it with beauty products. Highlighters continue to be on trend for spring and summer. I actually think the look will continue forever because I don’t know anyone who likes a matte and dried out looking complexion. I have a few favorites which are pictured below if you want to join me and my glowy look.
Are there any beauty trends that you like or have tried?
*I purchased all of the products shown, with the exception of the Dr Brandt product which was sent for editorial review. Affiliate links in this post support my blog.

Hi, Stacie
I’m wondering what the difference is between a jade roller and a rose quartz roller. I had the rose quartz roller on my shopping list. This post is interesting and informative.
Thanks!

Hi Angie, I’ve never tried a rose quartz roller, but here’s what I found for you: A true jade roller will have a little more resistance on the skin as it is not as silky smooth as other crystals, like rose quartz or amethyst. Because of this, it will have more impact on the solid tissues of the face (like the muscles) so it is better for ‘contouring’ and ‘lifting’.” I hope that helps! Stacie xo

Hi Stacie,
I’ve seen the jade rollers, they look like a neat tool, but I’ve yet to use one. Their popularity is definitely not waning.
One trend I was reading about the other day is the continued use of probiotics in skincare to help combat the rise in pollution levels. They help to strengthen the skin’s immune system and also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles so all good!
